Baker must not have qualified as a rookie in 2004 because the Argos nominee was Jonathan Landon.
I do believe Baker was the last first-year Argo to get 1000 yards receiving however.
Baker suited up for 10 games as a member of the 2002 NFL's Miami Dolphins, thus making him ineligible to participate in the 2004 CFL ROY nominations.
Thanks!
A year later he sucker punched Pre on the sideline.

Congrats Makai Polk! Argos first rookie 1000 yard receiver in 20 seasons! (2004 Robert Baker)
Polk should be rookie of the year in the East. He and Holley have both been outstanding rookies.
They gave it to Bridges. I can only assume they determined that Bridges' 933 yards in 15 games was more worthy than Polk's season.

What a load of Dung. Bridges had a starting QB the entire year and a full TC. Polk had neither. Maas and Mace as COY candidates...what a shock!

Polk was on pace for 1,472 yards once he had a competent QB throwing to him.

How many of Bridges' yards were after beatdown also? I have never seen the media enamoured with a 7-11 non-playoff team like they seem to be with this year's Ticats.

Seriously, I really don't care about personal awards. Maybe it's better this way.

I agree, playoff success as a team overrides individual awards.
Chad’s MOP award last season seemed rather empty after the team got their asses handed to them in the Eastern Final.

I'd like to see the Argo players collect extra $$ with the award.
