Since when does anyone treat an ingrown toenail by "keeping the person off their feet"? This is a strange comment.

Hopefully some Argo coach has gotten a podiatrist to instruct Kelly on how to properly take care of his nails, and examined his footwear to make sure there is proper room for his toes.

It might sound crazy, but Dinwiddie told Scianitti the toenail will be surgically removed so I can see why he's off his feet for a bit.

All this may have been prevented with a nail cutter.

Reminds me of Lloyd Christmas getting his toenails clipped in the motion picture entitled " Dumb & Dumber".

Isn't the going rate for ingrown toenail surgery a bottle of scotch?

I had a procedure like that when I was a teenager in 1984. I was mostly off my feet for a few days but had to be careful for a few weeks after that.

Great M*A*S*H reference.
But it's true. For infantry looking after one's feet is vital. Same for pro athletes. I would think someone highly paid and vital to the team like Kelly would have his footwear specifically measured and built for his feet. That's available to the general public if you want to pay for it. I hope MLSE is doing that.
