I spoke to someone who indicated the Argos were mostly spared from big job cuts - they're a pretty lean operation to begin with.

That may explain the mass exodus of front office staff who saw this coming with Rogers taking over. I don't expect Pinball or Murphy to get any help.
Does the team have a President?

This business sucks sometimes.
$15 million USD[/b]. That is Cdn $22 million. What could the Argos do, with even a fraction of that, forgetting salaries because that is cap-controlled, but overall?
Without expansion fees MLS is a house of cards. No TV money because the TV audience isn't there, attendance is okay not great and the gate revenue isn't huge because they can't command high ticket prices other than Miami. I cannot understand how MLSE can pay the team salary they do against incoming revenues and make money on TFC. Make it make sense. Is the league still expanding? And what owners think dropping hundreds of millions of dollars on a team has an ROI on it. The last teams in are going to be in a world of financial hurt.

All that money spent and they draw 22k to their home opener. How close can we get to that number for the Argos home opener?

There was an article within the last week or so in The Athletic quoting MLS execs who believe that putting the majority of their games on Apple + was a bad idea. They simply aren't getting as many eyeballs on their league as they were before.

The Argos have only topped 20K six times since they've been at BMO, including twice for regular season games. Although we've seen a small but steady increase in average attendance the last two seasons (which is encouraging obviously), I don't envision the upper deck being opened for the home opener. I remember being quite surprised when they did open the upper deck for the regular season finale against Ottawa last year, drawing 20,487. Hopefully I'm wrong about this.

I was going to say the same thing. Let's just let this thing keep growing before declaring who is going to sell more tickets between tenants.

Maybe on a league wide level, but locally, other than their 2 runs to the final, their TV ratings have not been good. I don't think that has really moved the needle.
