He has put all the guards under scrutiny: Doxtater, Vandal, Hunter and (maybe, since he has played guard in the past, and opened the season on the bench, for no discernible reason) Nicastro.
In your opinion. They are professionals. They can handle this.
There is nothing about this that is an opinion. He has stated publicly that "a guard" weighs 280 pounds and "I don't know what he did in the offseason." Unless you think the guys i mentioned above are not guards, then any one of them could be who he was referring to. Whether or not they can handle being called out is a matter of opinion, sure. But it's fact that he called a guard out and didn't name him, so anyone is free to wonder and speculate about which guard. Which means all of them might be the one.
There were only 2 guards playing in this game, that po'd the HC so much; now maybe he is dissing a guy considered one of the best O-lineman in the league, but I sort of doubt it.
It was an amateur hour, dumb comment that should have never have been made; he could have said something very firm like: " the entire O-line was weak and I'm quite concerned about this, and changes have to be made", but instead he insults a specific player. Wonder what the coaching staff would have thought about a player saying post game: "what type of moron decides to kick-off deep to a dangerous kick returner in a tie game with 30 some seconds left ?" Why not just $uck it up coaches, and take that heat ? But maybe the HC of some fans' fave football team is always right and beyond question ?

Old white guys are offended. Who would have guessed?
I have no problem with what Dinwiddie said. He's trying to get the team to react by saying ,"F-U coach, we'll show you." We'll see if it works.
Probably a tactic a coach can only use rarely, but this was the right time. Massive division games coming up.

Calling it a tactic suggests it was calculated. I don't believe that for a second. He was pissed off and blurted out something he almost certainly would not have said in that forum if he'd been thinking rationally.

I’ve recalled past criticism of how CFL coaches are often interviewed way too soon after the final whistle. The NFL generally has a better “cooling off” period before post game press conferences.

Except for Dennis Green and Jim Mora apparently.

Is it "possible", that in his venting and ranting, he just said that without even thinking through what he was saying? I know I have... and daresay many might have had similar things happen to them. He lost it while in a super emotional state of mind. I would bet that the next time he gets together with the team he will apologize and they will move on. We should too. Bigger things to worry about. Like beating the Redblacks.

It's entirely possible, if not certain, that he lost control of his emotions and spoke out of anger, without thinking through the implications. That might make it understandable, but it doesn't mean he shouldn't be called out. He also lost control on the sideline and shoved one of his players while angrily berating him. That type of behaviour might have been acceptable sixty years ago, but it's not something I believe most fans, or sports organizations, support nowadays. Hopefully such losses of control are now in the past.
