The team? Absolutely not.

Some of the fans? Yes.
Agree with this. I don't think the Tigra look is working for them anymore. They should change their look to Blue Steel. Some think its the same goddamn look but what have they got to lose at this point.

Only for designed quick passes like receiver screens. Otherwise it's determined by the QB deciding who his first read will be as he scans the defence before the snap.

Just like a RB is only going to put up some yardage if he gets some carries to touch the ball ?

I get great kicks out of some football commentators citing player stats for back-ups who barely play on offence or D as some sort of definitive take on the player's ability: "player X only had 3 tackles all year - look, he's useless", when the guy only played 5 snaps on D all year... hope you grasp this concept about playing time opportunity.

And I guess Cory Mace didn't see what you did with Nield, since he signed him for his Riders 1st place team and gives him significant playing time as a receiver.
If you'd stopped writing at "wish he was still an Argo," I daresay you'd receives responses of agreement. Hell, I'd have written one myself. But the inevitable addition of smarter-than-thou snark ruined an otherwise reasonable post. Hope you grasp this concept.

Oh you mean posting an opinion that offends others' notions of just how the Argos or CFL has to work?

Nield did not - IMO (get that?) - "regress" as an Argo receiver simply cause his stats were less than a season before; he was - for whatever reasons - just less used; if he had dropped passes galore or fumbled away a bunch of opportunities, then it could be said he was not progressing maybe, but that was not the case. The Argos receiving corps could obviously live without him, he was not a key franchise player of anything like that. But, from seeing him play for the Riders this year, it is IMO quite obvious the guy is a good CFL calibre receiver talent; and I thought that might be the case right from when he came out of college ball with some good production and backed by a very good set of Combine type testing #s.

We could wish he was still an Argo - even as a part-time or depth receiver perhaps - and still recognize his good accomplishments now on another team. The homer rationalizing of he's no longer an Argo and that's because he wasn't good enough, or, "regressed", stuff is good for a laugh though.

Nield was also injured a fair bit during his time with the Argos. Availability is a key factor in determining whether a player is retained or not and I think that's something the Argos will need to consider with at least 3 veteran players this off-season.

The pressing question this week will be if Shane Ray will practice this week and would you dress him. All jokes aside, If the Moon was made of ribs would you eat it?
