Dru Brown to Toronto and Kelly to Ottawa? Probably not, but not out of the question IMO.

Hopefully not. Kelly is the highest paid player in league. He is a MOP. It seems we've barely been able to see what he can do here. Has not won a GC as a starter yet. Mike Miller is the coach that gets the most if him. Dru Brown has alot to prove still.

I know it really doesn't mean much but I personally would like to see another offensive minded coach be the HC. Unless it is O'Shea.

Brown is a good QB; Kelly is elite so I sure hope we wouldn't see such a trade.

Such a frustrating time to be an Argos fan. This is such bad timing for this to happen. We certainly don't need uncertainty at the coaching position when faced with such a brutal schedule in 2026. Hopefully a desirable candidate is hired quickly to not impact free agency.

I will be shocked if a new head coach is not in place by Dec. 1. Probably announced the week of Nov.24.

RD didn't even give the Argos a chance to counter or match. Sounds like the team was willing to offer something to him.

Dave Naylor is reporting that Argos thought they would have opportunity to counter what Ottawa was offering. But Dinwiddie accepted offer as is and didn't go back to Argos.
If that is true, he clearly wanted out.
Paul Woods speculated that he may have wanted all power here, and even Pinballs job.
There are certainly lots of reasons why he may have wanted out. He is an elite coach and nobody outside of 15,000 fans in Toronto know who he is or care including his employer.

He seemed to have checked out later in the season.
If he wanted out that’s his decision, time to move on and build the next staff.
He did a good job in Toronto but as of today could care less how he does in Ottawa.

Just when you thought this season couldn't get any more demoralizing, we lose one of the most successful coaches in Argonauts history. I did hear some talk that RD might leave, but didn't put much stock into it. I'm both surprised and disappointed that he is moving on. Seeing how quickly Ottawa signed him, combined with Naylor's information leads one to believe that he wanted out of T.O. badly. I assume that there was some kind of falling out behind the scenes that soured the relationship between RD and the organization so severely that it caused him to abruptly leave without giving the Argos a chance to match Ottawa's offer. As for a possible replacement, I'd take O'Shea in a heartbeat. I thank RD for his contribution to the Argos, and wish him well, except when he plays against us of course.
