Brazley actually started his career with Montreal in 1980, and was traded late that season to Ottawa.
Thanks for the update Paul. So was Obie his Secondary coach in Ottawa before he took the Argo head coaching job?
Yes, O'Billovich would have coached Brazley in Ottawa.
Brazley got brought to Toronto midway through the 1983 season.
Some good history and mutual respect between the two of them then. Ottawa was on the rapid decline, and the Argos on the rapid ascent in early 80s.

You raise a great point about Ottawa. The 1976 Grey Cup win was the end of the golden era of Ottawa football. Unfortunately, for that city, they've never really ascended to those heights again with the brief period from 2015-2018 where the Redblacks won a Grey Cup and went to two others.

Brazley started the Ottawa and was the Cornerback who got lit up by Terry Greer in the 1982 East Final. Obie still saw something in him and brought him to Toronto the following season.
Getting lit up by Terrence Greer was not uncommon however when you catch over 2,000 yards in a 16 game schedule.

I believe Brazley wasn't traded to Ottawa until later in the 1981 season. I believe that he played with all of those NFL stars in Montreal early in the 1981 season.

Brazlwy played 10 games with the Als in 81, then 4 with Ottawa; followed by a full season in Ottawa; then on to the Argos; NFL detour in 87 with the Chargers.

Between 1981 in Montreal and 1991 in Toronto alone, Brazley must have some great stories.

I stand corrected on when he was traded to Ottawa, but he did play three games with Montreal in 1980.
