Don Landry's take on our Depth Chart as it stands:
OFFENCE
Receiver Damonte Coxie, DaVaris Daniels, Dejon Brissett*, David Ungerer III*, Kevin Mital *
Running Back Ka’Deem Carey
QuarterBack Chad Kelly
Fullback Bruno LaBelle*
Offensive Line Ryan Hunter* (LT), Dylan Giffen* (LG), Darius Ciraco* (C), Peter Nicastro* (RG), George Moore (RT)
* denotes National
** denotes Global
DEFENCE
Defensive Back Benjie Franklin (CB), Tarvarus McFadden (CB), Darrius Bratton (HB), Mark Milton (HB), Tyshon Blackburn* (FS)
Linebacker Cameron Judge* (WLB), Wynton McManis (MLB), Quincy Mauger (SAM)
Defensive Line Bryan Cox (DE), Derek Parrish (DE), Anthony Lanier II (DT), Jordan Williams (DT)
SPECIAL TEAMS
Kicker Lirim Hajrullahu*
Punter John Haggerty**
Long Snapper Adam Guillemette*
Returner Janarion Grant
I have no information about Bruno LaBelle's viability as a short yardage guy... does anybody think that he may be the solution to our multi-season goal line offence woes?
Labelle was a tight end in Div I US college ball; have no idea if he could line-up under C for short yardage duty, but Mackie (BC) & M-Litre (Ticats) sure were good at it last season, and the CFL is a copy-cat league, so ... could also find a big QB to do that role but that might mean replacing Dukes as 3rd stringer ?
Lots of competition is needed to put together a strong D again. Hoping it will be ex-Bomber Rutledge over Mauger at S-OLB, and vet C. Evans should be able to claim a job (over Milton at D-half perhaps?). D-line should be decided by lots of fierce TC competition; aside from Lanier's one big season with the Riders and wether he can find that form again, none of the above should be handed a job without thorough challenges IMO
I hadn't considered him under centre. I had more of a fullback plunge in mind.

No CFL teams consistently use the "fullback plunge" anymore. Not in the cards / they have no idea about or use for it.
Ex-Ticat fullback Julien Radlein was the last I recall who was so good at it - money for short yardage conversions.

Noticed today that last year's Argo draft pick (5th round / 39th overall) - DB Jerrell Cummings (CanWest all-star at corner last season) is now on the EE roster; just came across it, did not read news about it ?

Wondering what became of former CFL Canadian DTs Mo Diallo & J-Min Pelley; both were highly rated young DTs who only lasted a bit in the CFL and both were released. Find it very odd that a team in DT need would not have signed them for a TC look at least ? Problem guys maybe, but didn't hear they "retired" ?

Argos don't re-sign Adeleke and Sopik.
Both retire unexpectedly in offseason.
We had to know, right?

Both guys went out as GC Champs as members of the mighty Argos - congrats on fine CFL careers !
IMO both were signed by CFL teams this off-season, that were hedging their bets on maybe needing a vet Canadian starter on D; but both those teams are 7 only need apply teams, and those 2 both as vets with starting experience would not have come cheap; so - closer to TC they saw other cheaper guys able to man those spots, so might have been time to "suggest" they both "retire" as not needed with cheaper alternatives available ?

Sopik retired because he suffered an off-season injury. Adeleke may have just decided to move onto life after football. Adeleke has had his share of injuries the past few years also.

Don’t let the facts get in the way of a good conspiracy theory!

Yup, need to rename the league the anti-Canadian Football League. Or so I hear.
