I feel like appeals to patriotism never seems to work for the CFL for some reason.
It’s true, Canadians have never been big on flag-waving, but suddenly we now are, apparently, which changes the dynamics of a patriotic appeal on behalf of the Argos and the CFL. I’ll be surprised and disappointed if they don’t try it at least to some extent this year.
Be nice, but as Ravi says above - don't hold your breath.
The GOBs could always increase Canadian content on CFL rosters ... but we know they aim for the opposite.

I was hoping this would be the case but Will is correct. I was disappointed to see that a week into the "buy Canadian" initiative so many Canadians seem to put that all aside to watch the Super Bowl.
"That dastardly Donald! I'll show him by....watching the Super Bowl!"
I was talking to a gentleman this morning who brought up the tariffs. He cursed the United States and Americans up and down. He proudly declared he wanted nothing to do with that country.
Then the subject changed to sports. When I brought up the CFL, he interrupted me irritatingly and declared "I only watch the NFL."
I couldn't believe it.

I think guys like this are all the more reason for the league to push the patriotic buttons this year. If we can’t win them over, even a tiny bit, at least we can make them feel guilty about their hypocrisy.

I would love to see the league go back to 10 mandated Canadian starters but, sadly, that ship sailed almost 30 years ago.
the appeal to Pride-of-country has much potential IMO, as a marketing tool league-wide, and will only become stronger as 2025 moves along, so I too am hoping to see something along those patriotic lines developing as the 2025 CFL season approaches.
I do expect this will look even more attractive an idea in May than it does in March.
