During training camp and exhibition games, Nicastro, for a starter, didn't seem to get a lot of playing time. But he is a very good, high profile OL player with a high salary. The team can't be seeing him as a backup for the season. Do we envision a trade in the future?
The lineup is a little light at DT. The Elks badly need some talent at OL. How about a trade with them? Love to see Brinkman back. Highly unlikely but stranger things have happened in the CFL.

I agree, shatto. Having someone as good as Nicastro as a depth piece is a considerable luxury, but at $200k it might be an unaffordable luxury. Altho worth noting that a lot of guys on the roster are on rookie contracts so we presumably have more cap flexibility than we had last year. I'd love Brinkman back, but if trading a NAT starter I would generally prefer a NAT starter in return. Gittens? (Not that we need another NAT receiver.) I've pondered whether Sask might have a NAT safety capable of starting here. They are very thin on the o-line at the moment.

BC suffered injuries to 3 Nat starters in the pre season. If there ever was a team that needs help there immediately, it's them, although I would enjoy watching Rourke run for his life this year.

A trade could happen; but not that common in the CFL these days.

As far as DTs - the EE did, this off-season, cut huge Canadian DT J-Min Pelley, who was once considered an outstanding young CFL DT prospect, and who did play some for them and flash some talent at least. Now maybe he is more of a big NFL/American ball middle plugger DT type or maybe he has some issues (character, discipline), but not sure why a team in DT need would not be giving him a look otherwise ?

The pressure will be be on Davis Alexander to deliver, and nobody really knows if he’s ready for prime time yet. If we can get in his head early, I like our chances, as long as Arbuckle doesn’t get hurt.

I thought that Alexander looked good at times last year and has potential but that was a significant gamble in jettisoning Fajardo who played the best football of his career in Montreal.

Argos are going to bring it tonight. The depth chart looks good. The offence has weapons. Too many experts are sleeping on the defending champions just like they did last year. Let's see what the new D Line can do.

The Argos/Als game this week is the only one featuring teams' dressing 2 back-up O-lineman. (the Bombers did so most of last year along with the Argos).

EE listing 2 back-up O-line, but one starter is listed as GTD (game time decision)

I see that Luke Willson has joined the TSN crew as a sideline reporter. Why? The next time this guy has a positive comment to make about the CFL will be the first time.

Go Argos.
