I'm always happy for an Argos win here in BC. My observations from the game was that the special teams were very good tonight. Grant gave them great field position and both kicker and punter played very well. Arbuckle did well passing and was making something out of nothing more than once when running with the ball. Great to see the D keep them out of the end zone at the end and I think we all have to be happy with 3-4 record and a team that is competitive with a good mentality through very trying circumstances so far this season.
The D line needs to get more pressure on the QB. I know Lemon got home once and a few other sacks but not enough pressure on a young qb.
Ungerer is awesome but had at least 3 mental errors tonight, very badly offside, not going down before the half to save the clock, and coming onto the field on a kick return after the kick already happened. This and too many penalties across the team are things that have to be cleaned up as we're near the mid-point of the season. These kind of mistakes add up and need to stop.
Good timing for a bye week and I hope the players heal up and get adjusted to new facilities and living situations.

Finally the 7 game, soccer tournament instigated road odyssey is over. Hopefully Kelly will be back for Calgary on the 6th, Goss had his shoulder in a sling & I'm sure there will be more injuries to be reported next week. Nice to see the D keep BC out of the endzone. I suggested to a fellow forum member last week that Lemon would be disruptive in his season debut & was met with scorn & utter humiliation. Hendrix was also quite noticeable against a BC line in which only 6 Linemen were dressed, perhaps the Lions resign Allen after Donovan went down with what appeared to be a serious injury. Good to see Lidster go toe to toe with BCs short FG Specialist, hard to see Liram getting back into the lineup at this point.

A solid performance overall, albeit helped by Rourke's absence and B.C.'s o-line issues.
Hopefully Kelly and Franklin are able to heal during the bye week. I assume Goss is gone for a while, hopefully Judge can return for the next game.
Lemon and Hendrix both made an impact, and other members of the d-line also looked good. Been a while since we had four sacks.
One game isn't enough to determine the kicking job is Lidster's, but he looked excellent on FGs and very good on KOs. One of his FGs, from 47, looked like it probably would have been good from 57. He was just an inch away from five-for-five. So Lirim can take all the time he needs to sort through whatever's ailing him.
I think it's gonna be very tough to take Burnip out of the lineup. That's back-to-back games where his punting has been outstanding. I can't believe Ottawa let him go.
On the negative side, I continue to be frustrated by Miller's total lack of commitment to the run game. May as well not even dress Hicks if he's getting three to five touches.
Still, we end this infernal chunk of the schedule at a respectable 3-4. And just two makeable missed FGs away from being 5-2.

All things considered, 3-4 for this road trip isn't bad. If Montreal beats Hamilton tonight then the Argos keep pace with Hamilton (albeit HAM has the tiebreaker).

My feeling before this ridiculous road trip started was that we'd go 3 & 4. Under the circumstances, I'm content with our record, even though it easily could have been better. Again, it doesn't seem to matter what the situation in the game is, the running games is ignored, with Smith & Hicks having a total of 8 carries between them. Has anyone heard what happened at the end of the first half? Fortunately it didn't matter in the end, but conceivably could have been the difference in a losing effort. Very good debut by Lidster, although I'm not ready to throw in the towel on Lirim yet.

all you posters have covered the key points about this 3-4 start quite thoroughly. I would emphasize the number of Argo penalties are still too high, especially O-line procedure calls. Hoping Chad,s neck injury is a quick heal.
The Bye Week is a timely one for our team. Still lots to improve upon, but staying competitive is critical to the team.
In football we know the tides can turn quickly, so KEEP ROWING AND PULL TOGETHER!

If this were a fair world, the Argos would be granted 3 additional home games in 2027 to make up for this year's absurd schedule.

We likely will never know the full story, but IMO there were three culprits: Smith failed to go out of bounds when he had a chance to do so, Ungerer lost track of time and tried to make a move for the end zone rather than go down quickly, and Miller failed to call a timeout. Any of those three things could have made the difference for at least a field goal. As you say, fortunately it didn't cost them, but against a good team, it likely would have.

I blame Miller the most on the time management. Yes, Smith had the opportunity to get out of bounds, but as soon as as he didn’t, Miller should have burned a time out with 13 seconds left, guaranteeing 2 more plays. Rookie HC who has made a few rookie mistakes this season in game.
Ungerer was so close to the goal line, there is no way he’s not going to try and score there. That’s instinct. You can see he felt bad about it, but I don’t blame him there.
On the bright side, Polk didn’t give him the Brissett treatment after the play.

I believe Miller took responsibility after the game for that, too.
