Gotta fix the D-line, especially interior. I think the rest of the D is fine, might just need more or a philosophical change.

Going with a zone defense with a subpar pass rush is a recipe for disaster to say the least. They definitely need a personnel upgrade on the D-line with the exception of Chatfield. More quantity of quality is needed all across the line. I see that Luiji Vilain, Ralph Holley and Paris Shand are all available. I'd love to see at least two in camp next spring. It seemed that the defensive backfield was confused at times in their coverages; hence all of the broken plays. We'll see if there are changes to the defensive coaching staff this off-season. I have a feeling that Dinwiddie will push for some change.

It has been reported Doege is going to start in the next game. Granted Horn is also supposed to get some playing time. But why is Doege playing at all? The coaches know what he can and can't do. IMO, this is truly a dumb coaching decision. Duggan and Horn should be the QBs for the next two games, in order to evaluated them for next year. Dinwiddie has made some questionable personnel decisions this year (trading Allen for Varga for example) but not concentrating the evaluation on Duggan and Horn is an example of another one.

They should be getting as many younger players into these last two games as possible, I agree this is an opportunity to get a good read on what they currently have in the pipeline heading into the offseason.
Whether it actually happens is another thing?

You really think his 1 career start tells the coaches what Doege can and can’t do? I don’t see it that way.

There's probably an element of Dinwiddie wanting to reward Doege for being a good soldier this year. That said, Horn should play at least half of this game, and ideally he and Duggan should split playing time the following week.

This past winter and off season, it was amazing how the organization let the D-Line leave. They traded Orimolade for Judge. They knew all along that was happening. They also knew Holley was going to the NFL. Why let all of the other pieces get poached in FA? That was the best D-Line in Canada and it is beyond reasonable expectation to expect anything other than what happened. Maybe they thought they would have Kelly playing and the team would win every game in a track meet. In hindsight it blew up in their faces.
With MLSE making CFL bank playing 3 home games away in 2026, I hope they reinvest a chunk of that back into the team. That is probably about $4 Million in gross gate.

Orimilade for Judge. No problem with that trade. You get an all star Canadian at a usually manned American position in Judge. Fair trade for both sides.
They focused on re-signing Ceresna. Unfortunately he has his roots now in Edmonton, so that wasn’t happening. Robbie Smith. Would you have paid him 250k? I wouldn’t have.
Parrish really started slowly this year, but I think has picked it up. Chatfield’s sack numbers are down since the first third of the season, but I think is still playing well. They didn’t have the depth to overcome injuries to Cox and Christmas. IMO, Pelley and Correa are useless and need not be brought back.
At the end of the day, I feel it was just a really down season. I am not panicked about the future.

I would have like to have seen Brinkman in the interior along with Lanier. We will never know how Christmas or Cox would have worked out, I doubt either will be returning. Regarding the future, I think it's so bright I gotta wear shades.

When the season began some of us believed that Jordan Williams was going to be a stalwart on the interior. Not only did he suck, but judging from his unprofessional behaviour in his return with the Elks, he may have been a disruptive and negative influence on the entire unit while he was here. Just another bizarre episode in a bizarre season.
