Last years Grey Cup is on TSN. 41-16 Argos late in 4th Quarter.
Pelley is high fiving everyone in suite after Priesters pick six.
Rogers may very well be intentionally inflicting this harm on the Argos. None of what is happening makes any rational sense.
Playing 6 home games.
Promoting NFL via your position as Argo owner.
Letting best coach in league walk.
Not signing most successful coach of past decade who is an all-time Argo.
Allowing your front office to decay and be stripped of personnel where 1 person does the job of what 6,7,8 may do in other organizations.
People within Rogers may loathe the team and the league so much so that destroying it from the inside out in this manner is more satisfying than simply abandoning the team and unloading it to the league.

Now that O'Shea has rejected the Argo offer, the question is who will get the position. Personally I lean to either Miller or Younger. Whoever becomes the head coach might well be inheriting a poisoned chalice. The odds are against a successful season with the team playing twice as many away games as home games and what appears to be a reluctance of MLSE to pay to attract players. With the World Cup taking over BMO, the team will be losing their base for both games and practice arrangements. It doesn't appear the team's recruiting personnel did a good job based on last year's draft, can we expect better this year?
All in all, the odds are stacked against the team for next year. I hate to be a pessimist but it will take a miracle to see the team with a winning record next year. But then again, miracles do occasionally happen---so I guess I will renew the season tickets just in case!

Kent Austin rumor as new Argo HC (currently QB coach at Auburn ?); fits the bill / makes GOB sense. Maybe they would give somebody like that dual GM/HC to go further on the cheap?
Might be the last season of real CFL football coming up; at least the Argos won 2 GCs lately, and will go down as the all-time GC winningest team.

It could be Austin, who Pinball once fired as his offensive coordinator in 2006. Austin could work well with Chad Kelly - they both have Ole Miss connections.
I would like to see if Pinball could replicate his prior success of picking a head coach who wasn't necessarily a big name previously. There are definitely some challenges in play in luring a quality coach to Toronto right now, given that ownership seems problematic.

Sigh...you could totally be right with this assessment. The 2024 Grey Cup somehow now feels like the end of an era.

I’ve been rooting for Mikey ever since he became a head coach, but enough of that. Screw HIM. I’ll be rooting for the Bombers to lose every game from here on out.
So what now? I wouldn’t be shocked if Pelley “encouraged” Pinball to earn his paycheck and take over as coach himself. And tbh I’d rather see him than some stiff like Jones or Austin or Dyce.
Pinball is a delegator as GM and he delegated a lot of powers to his coordinators when he was a HC too, and maybe that approach might work again.

For better or worse, coaching is a 12- to 16-hour-a-day job nowadays. I don't see how a head coach can avoid putting in such hours, no matter how much delegation takes place. Pinball as HC is not happening.

Nailed it, I'm afraid.

Can we get in the site's time machine and revisit the reactions to the news of the wonderful MLSE taking over as Argo owners?
At least this site doesn't have full-time CFL/MLSE propaganda swallowing and spewing dupes, like you find on some other forums; pathetic & laughable - but fine signs of the times.

Why don't you go back and find all those reactions, and show them to us?
