Sorry L-H - time for you to get benched; totally unacceptable shit kicking; give Lidster a chance now, and if he fails, give L-H another chance i guess. Happens to some good vet kickers ( i can recall a number of examples).
He has missed too many kicks and they have all been wide left. If not for all of the missed kicks so far this season, they could be 5-1 instead of 2-4. He has missed game-changing kicks in Montreal and Winnipeg - both after huge special teams plays - and in Hamilton.
The Argos' offence should have tried getting the ball as deep as possible on that last possession. They had the Ticats' defence exhausted and on the ropes and should have gone for the kill. I had zero confidence that Hajrullahu was going to make that kick.
A local HS kicker shoulda made that game win FG attempt; totally unacceptable

So the Argos blow another game, 24-23 on a missed field goal on the last play.
Two mediocre teams playing to see who can make the most mistakes, the worst play calling, etc. The Argos win.
MEDIOCRE is the right word. Count on another West cross-over in 2026 CFL playoffs (can you make that bet?)
The PK on both teams choked big-time, part of their mutual mediocrity.
if in 2025, the Argo D was below average, Special Teams sucked large, and there was NO running game, and all those things apply in 2026, how can fans expect anything in 2026 but the identical 5-and-13 finishing record?

Special teams coverage has generally been good and the return game hasn't been bad either. Hajrullahu is in a major slump. They're actually running the ball decently but they're just not running it a lot. The run defence has been good, in general, and they're forcing a lot more turnovers this year. The pass defence is still a work in progress.
That was obviously a very winnable game. Rough one for Lirim. If we can't beat a Lions team that's without Rourke next week. It's going to be a long season.

Next week is huge. If they can come home 3-4, I think we all would have taken that at the start of the season.
Should've won. Can't lose to a team with so many backups starting. It doesn't all come down to the kicking as more plays should've been made earlier, but unacceptable to not make those kicks.
I truly think this team will have a stronger second half to the season but need to win next week to keep in the race.
I had a bad feeling when the team lined up for the game winning FG attempt & I think it was Suitor who said "Its the same distance as an Extra Point".Aside from that, again the D gives up an ridiculously amount of 2nd Down conversions. The O was mediocre for most of the game until midway through the 3rd Quarter. Going to BC (at least they're don't have to travel to the island) to face Brice next week to finally end this FIFA caused debacle then a bye before facing Calgary at Toronto Stadium, sorry BMO Field who should have Begelton back. Not giving up on this team by a long shot, but too many mistakes have them in catch up mode.
A few observations from my first in-stadium view this season:
The 35-second clock truly isn't a 35-second clock. It typically doesn't start until 3 to 5 seconds have elapsed since the end of the previous play. May as well go straight to a running 40 if this is how they do it.
There were (as there always seem to be, except on Labour Day) a ton of empty seats last night. I was surrounded by them in a good section (30-yard line, east side lower deck). The west stands looked about half full.
Two key Argos were injured. Chatfield had his foot in a boot at the end, and looked very pissed off about his injury. Shepley sat most of the second half (replaced by O'Neil) although he had no visible injury. The o-line was pretty terrible with and without him.
The defence had, IMO, one job: contain Ford. Failed miserably most of the night, at least until Ticats ran into injuries on their o-line. I'm starting to have serious doubts about Quick's suitability to be a co-ordinator.
Dymere Miller looked very dangerous as a returner. Would have been nice if he'd been able to hold onto that (underthrown) deep pass from Kelly early on.
Kelly is a real hit-and-miss QB. He makes throws that look almost impossible to work look easy, and he misses throws that look easy to make. I like his gunslinger mentality but I still feel he puts too much trust in his arm at times. His body language coming off the field a few times was not good -- I suspected he was pissed at his o-line for leaving him under siege.
Once again, Hicks gets SEVEN carries. I like Miller as a coach, but his complete unwillingness to commit to the run is driving me nuts.
One thing Miller does that Dinwiddie never did is engage in conversation with his QB when a series ends.
Burnip is a hell of a punter. Haggerty might not be back anytime soon if this keeps up.
And finally, Lirim. I am not one to call for guys to be cut or benched, especially not guys who were key cogs in two Grey Cup wins. But the kid they just signed out of college likely needs to be given a shot at this point. Two weeks in a row, misses by LH have turned winnable games into losses. He looked completely out of sorts on the sideline between the missed convert and and the final FG try -- doing a lot of simulated kicking, and generally looking uptight. He clearly has the yips. It's possible the new holder was part of the issue last night, but that excuse doesn't explain last week's miss, or others that have been far too prevalent this season.

The Argo O did exactly what was needed on the last drive, a 24 yard chip shot FG should be automatic at the pro level.
