3rd and inches and you run a play wide when the Elks defence has been controlling the line of scrimmage all game long? What a stupid stupid coaching call.
Absolutely idiotic call by Miller, inexcusable!

Argos looking to copy Dinwid's Ottawa offence? - short passes, no real ground game; O-line routinely beat (some real bad OT play around the league) ... ?
D looking mostly solid lately still - not their fault this game.
Lidster has to get better - can't keep blowing makeable FGs, or, like with LH this year, time to bring another kicker in.
Pass D a little soft in the first half but solid in the second half, Argonauts run D is very good!
Adarius Pickett had a great game.
O-Line was terrible today, pocket collapsed on almost every play (even with a 3 man rush), Coxie also had a terrible game.
Please end the Jack Cassar on O experiment, he has no clue who he is supposed to block, same with the turnstile Kemp at RT, pitiful.
Miller’s third and inches call may be one of the dumbest things I’ve ever witnessed.
They better be much better against Hamilton or they will get beat this coming week which wouldn’t shock me at all.
A frustrating team to watch!

There were a number of issues raised in this game. The most worrisome is the play of the OL. Kemp was the weakest of the OL players. Kemp appeared unable to block his man, throughout this game. As ArgoRavi asked---surely Allen would be a better OT---so why not call him?

Hopefully the Elks look past the Argos a little bit combined with more discipline play and a win is a very possibility.
It looks like the Argos were looking past the Elks. I'm not sure why. Don't want to beat up on them too bad even though the entire team and coaching staff look like they mailed it in today. This was literally their 8th road game in 9 weeks with 5 separate trips out West in 9 weeks. They had to put up a stinker at some point. Even the game in Calgary they put up over 30 points.
And it's insane that they still have to make two more trips out west.

When you mention Allen, I'd be ok with Woody starting at OT.

Yes, including one just two weeks from now. It seemed a week ago that we had survived this atrocious schedule, but the toll just keeps getting worse and worse. If Argos end up missing the playoffs, MLSE's decision to prioritize revenue over football will be the primary reason.

There's not much more to add to the earlier comments, but here goes.
Horrendously careless handling of the football all day. Aside from the fumbles, Kahmann dropped at least two perfectly catchable balls.
Our offensive tackles are really substandard, and the interior wasn't a lot better yesterday. I doubt we will ever again see Hunter at his 2023-24 level.
I still like Miller, but he seems to make at least one rookie coaching mistake each week. Truly terrible play call on the short-yardage sweep.
Jury's still out on Lidster, but I think we have to (and will) give him more time. There is no obvious alternative available anyway.
The defence deserved a much better fate yesterday. Sure, there were a couple of annoying breakdowns, but they definitely played well enough to win if the offence and specials had played to their usual level.
Hamilton suddenly looks like a threat again. It will be interesting to see who starts at QB for them. Milanovich probably doesn't want Frost to lose his job because of injury, but he will be sorely tempted to play Ford based on how he looked against the Argos a month ago. Quick had better have a plan to contain him this time.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES HAND OFF TO RB OR LINE UP IN SHOTGUN FORMATION.
HOLY F^@# I'M PISSED.
That was a brain fart of epic proportions.

That was a case of overthinking, which coaches sometimes do.

Don't be Bananas
I'd give Shepley a shot at OT - doubt he could be as bad as Kemp or the other guy (Bland?) now. As for the return of Allen - sure, maybe, but why can't he even make BC? - maybe he is just not what he once was.
Coxie is plainly not a sure-handed receiver for short passes - proven it over & over again, so don't throw it to him there; save him for deep to intermediate shots that he excels at.
And what's the point of deploying a linebacker at fullback - just to block / never going to see the ball ? - use a back-up O-lineman for real extra blocking beef. And clearly Miller, as a new guy in charge of a CFL offence, sees no value in a real tight end, while other CFL teams are starting to use that position at least some, and to very good affect at times (see the last Ottawa game's big gainer to a tight end release play).
Chad Kelly needs to run more - that just makes the offence more varied and opens up the pass game more - maybe he or the coaches are afraid of injury, but you can't play with that fear and ignore an obvious offensive weapon. And a more applied run game to the RBs is an obvious need; both Hicks (broken a couple of big gainers but stuffed easily far too often = poor average) and Smith (shows some decent power) are maybe not the full time answer; why not bring in Mombo (big back with speed) and give him some chances, or , bring in a new import RB who might work out ?
The D is playing pretty well, and might continue to improve with all the new faces gelling (Pickett is a force and leader - great re-signing); Bolden is an aggressive safety who could become a star with more experience - needs to make some picks). O and place kicking are now major worries though.
