Williams is not your typical training camp RB fodder. He is probably the most highly-regarded rookie RB to come to the Argos since James Wilder or Cory Boyd. 20 rushing TDs over 3 seasons for Ohio State speaks volumes about him.

Obviously big talent is no guarantee of CFL success, but if Williams was 3 inches taller he would likely be in the NFL. If he looks good at camp it would sure be a shame to lose the 23-year-old all because of the apparently afterthought signing of the 32-year-old Carey.
One assessment of Williams is that he isn't a good pass catcher. Hopefully some good coaching can correct that.

If he can’t catch well at this stage of his football life, I wouldn’t expect any type of coaching to help him with that. Unless they want to just go with a cheaper player, I don’t think he will make the team

On the John Haggarty front, he will be attending a kicking showcase on March 10 that will have NFL teams in attendance.

I hope he is able to remain an Argo. He is the best punter in the league and tilts the field in Argos favour. Surprised other teams don't want that advantage. With his band John Haggarty and the Beaver Brown Band based in Toronto his dual income here gives the Argos an edge.

Funny I actually heard that band on the radio today! But as a comic in all seriousness, I find it odd Haggarty didn't receive several NFL tryouts after the year he had, yet Julien got a contract and the Hamilton P got NFL attention too. I fully expect Haggarty to return to the Argo fold for 2025 and beyond.

I wasn't particularly impressed by Jeremy Edwards in the home preseason game in Guelph.

Julien set the all-time , pro football (i.e. CFL & NFL) single season punting average mark last season; you find it odd that he would get an NFL look ?

I found it odd that Haggarty didn't. Nothing more.

I felt that Haggerty was better at placing his punts than Julien.

I haven't looked into the numbers but after watching the Elks quite often last season, Julien was able to garner a higher average than Haggerty in large part to having more field of which to punt into. Often the Argos offense would move it to midfield where Haggerty is more inclined to angle the ball, losing distance in the process. Julien will need to do this in the NFL, otherwise, he could be out of a job. Touchbacks are not your friend in the NFL.
