Can we get in the site's time machine and revisit the reactions to the news of the wonderful MLSE taking over as Argo owners?
At least this site doesn't have full-time CFL/MLSE propaganda swallowing and spewing dupes, like you find on some other forums; pathetic & laughable - but fine signs of the times.
Why don't you go back and find all those reactions, and show them to us?
Nah, I'm too lazy. I'll bet it was just wonderful news, at the time ... to some

Nope, doesn't really matter; just like the game of football doesn't really matter in the grand scheme of things.
Just saying it would be interesting; and of course it's ok to be hopeful about your fave team.

Rogers essentially becoming the sole owner was always going to be a concern. We were lucky to see two 9-9 teams beat the odds from 2008-19, but I'd rather not repeat that era.

I think that is a good point, when MLSE took over the Argonauts many (myself included) felt that they finally had financially stable ownership.
During the previous MLSE ownership structure with Bell Media still heavily involved and way more CFL friendly the Argonaut organization were afforded all the financial resources (player ops department, roster depth) etc to flourish and that they did.
Now with Rogers in charge, a corporation that has never been overly friendly to the CFL we are starting to see the lack of interest in supplying the necessary resources and structure to continue being successful.
In two short years this organization has gone from being a flagship CFL franchise to now being run on a shoestring budget and it shows with the on field product.
Problem now is they are stuck with Rogers ownership as I don’t see another possible ownership group that would be willing to purchase and run this team as it should be.
I don’t mean to be totally negative but I suspect we are in for some dark days moving forward as Argo fans with this current ownership structure.
If things continue to deteriorate how long will the Pinball continue to hang around?

Last years Grey Cup is on TSN. 41-16 Argos late in 4th Quarter.
Pelley is high fiving everyone in suite after Priesters pick six.
Rogers may very well be intentionally inflicting this harm on the Argos. None of what is happening makes any rational sense.
Playing 6 home games.
Promoting NFL via your position as Argo owner.
Letting best coach in league walk.
Not signing most successful coach of past decade who is an all-time Argo.
Allowing your front office to decay and be stripped of personnel where 1 person does the job of what 6,7,8 may do in other organizations.
People within Rogers may loathe the team and the league so much so that destroying it from the inside out in this manner is more satisfying than simply abandoning the team and unloading it to the league.
Nailed it, I'm afraid.
If I have nailed it, this is one time I wish I was dead wrong. If this is the reality, the CFL with
media rights up after 2026 it is incumbent on the league to court Rogers involvement in some fashion to entice them to put skin in the game. Of Rogers remains uninvolved and they continue to neglect the Argos as owner than I believe the CFL should revoke the franchise and take control especially with all of the changes coming. These changes are meant to bring new eyeballs to the game. And having a neglectful owner in the biggest market is a problem.

Honestly, I hope the Argos go internal and choose either Mike Miller or Pete Costanza as head coach. Chad Kelly is their most valuable asset and being able to continue working with Miller especially would be a good thing IMO. Steinauer is unlikely to leave Hamilton and I am not overly enthused about Kent Austin (although the Ole Miss connection could be appealing to both Kelly and Austin).
Having said all of this, there's much cause for concern with how Rogers/MLSE/Pelley are running this franchise.

Agree with this. Hopefully those assistants would be interested. Miller especially to keep Kelly engaged in staying here.

Reportedly, both are interested. Also, the Argos are losing offensive assistant Drew Tate to Ottawa, as per Farhan Lalji.

If one of Miller or Costanza get the job I hope the other will want to stay on. Both have been instrumental here. Dinwiddie needs to build his staff in Ottawa and more poaching can happen or these coaches get tired of the dysfunction here as well.
