With the money being thrown around in the NFL for starting and backup QB’s no surprise that he wants to get a shot down south, in reality it ain’t happening for a variety of reasons.
Yeah, can't blame the guy for hoping or trying, but good luck with that idea. He'd actually be better served for that dream by playing in the UFL - cause NFL scouts would look at some play there; OTOH, it's obvious they have basically zero interest now in CFL QBs. But how much does a top UFL QB make compared to what Chad pulls down in the CFL ?
He would pretty much have to be the greatest CFL QB of all time to ever get a look from the NFL and it still may not happen. If he's motivated to do so, I am all for it.
Also 32 years old coming off a major injury as well as some transgressions along the way.

Chad will be an Argos QB well into his late 30's at least. He will have put up great numbers & be able to provide a great life for his family.

He is making good money in the CFL and would be best stick with it in Canada, no chance the NFL takes a look at him at this point.

I don't think the transgressions matter so much in a league where the punishment for committing domestic violence could range anywhere from nothing to a six game suspension.

If anything, having transgressions raises your stock in the NFL.

By your reasoning he should be playing in the NFL, so why isn’t he?

Oh I'm not talking about whether or not he should be in the NFL and I'm definitely not saying you are wrong. I simply saw an opportunity to trash the NFL, I took it and I will do it again.

NFL is always looking for backup QBs, even older ones. If Kelly has a productive, injury-free 2026 season, he might go through the NFL winter workout circuit and see if a team with a weaker QB room offers him a contract.

Possibly, but I am skeptical. Kelly got zero offers after winning MOP in 2023 and the last CFL QBs in their 30s to end up in the NFL were Doug Flutie in 1998 and Dieter Brock in 1985. Flutie had a much higher profile than Kelly and a much cleaner reputation, also. I am pretty sure that the NFL has fully moved on from Chad Kelly.

I'm also sceptical, but I'm not discounting the possibility of him taking one last shot at it.

Agree with all that Ravi; BUT - all it would take would be for one NFL key personnel (GM, HC, OC) guy to really like Chad, and they could make that opportunity happen - simple as that. However, I'll still bet there is precious little chance he gets another NFL look.
