The overreaction to Kelly is hilarious and typical. I dismiss the comments from 2 of our esteemed posters because we all know they wanted Kelly gone to begin with.
The first pick 6: 100% the fault of Sindani and Nield. Nice blocks boys.
The 2nd pick was on Kelly. The ball sailed on him.
The next pick 6: not a good throw but bad luck too. That ball after the tip hits the ground 9 out of 10 times.
The 4th pick on a convert wasn’t even acknowledged as an interception stats wise until the last couple of years.
Sorry Ravi, this is not long term damage to the team. They will bounce back. So sick and tired of the morals police.
As for coaching, for God’s sakes, get Mital in the starting line up. Sindani and Nield have peaked as far as potential goes. Mital should be ahead of both on te depth chart.
Well it wasn't just Kelly's picks that have people concerned, his head wasn't in the game. He was throwing alot of bad passes the whole game, either over-throwing, under-throwing etc - some really bad decision-making. He was not scrambling or running, just waiting to get sacked, most of the time. I do agree that he has regressed from how he was able to play last season. And maybe that has alot to do with the fact that he’s playing on a team with alot less talent and depth. The whole team played poorly yesterday, so that didn’t help Kelly either. But Rourke is getting better with each game he plays, I don't see that same progression in Kelly.
And I had the same thought that Ravi had about whether there are problems in the locker room. The Argos have looked incredibly flat the last two games, no energy, no enthusiasm etc. so what is going on? They are entering the most important part of the season so it shouldn’t be an issue for the team to be get up for games and go out there roaring to win. Both they haven’t looked that way for the last couple of days.
Kelly improved in the second half of his first game and actually didn't do anything wrong vs Hamilton. Team just failed to convert drives in TDs. Nothing of a concern. Kelly actually did get better this game and he didn't "see ghosts" like Pickett claims IMO. There were some throws Kelly made that he had no business having caught but I applaud him being aggressive. It's not like he generated zero offence and a ton of 2 and outs.

Yeah Kelly did play better in the second half, but they still didn't win did they? And they didn't win against Hamilton, so there are some problems. Kelly certainly isn't the only problem the Argos currently have, but his inconsistent play is one of the problems.

Ottawa had a 4 TD lead to protect going into the 2nd half; they were going to sit back in even softer zone and bring more pass rush pressure at times; a local HS QB could put up some decent passing #s in that situation. This game got out of hand early with moron offensive coaching in a rain game / field. Kelly was $hitty at times and this should not be happening. The wimpy D was easily as much to blame as the offence though, IMO.

Team couldn't win with Dukes and Arbuckle. So what is the solution? Dukes too slow with his release, can't throw long. What do you want? Even Vernon Adams goes hot and cold. Like Angelo said, this is just filled with a dislike for him. He could go 32/36 3 TDs still loses the game and you'd be saying Kelly clearly is a problem because the team can't win. Does everyone realize he missed camp, 9 games and couldn't even practice with the team? And you expect him to be as sharp? Even Rourke looked bad in his first rushed start. Rourke at least practised in the NFL

Kelly is the guy, they need to sink or swim with him.
He has only played 3 games and should improve, if he doesn’t they’re screwed either way.

Well when the team is not playing well, Dinwiddie could mix things up abit, which he doesn't do. Kelly had a bad day yesterday, Dinwiddie could have put in Dukes or Arbuckle for a couple of series, just to change things up and let Kelly regroup etc. but he didn't. As I noted the whole team did not play well yesterday, including Kelly. This has nothing to do with dislike of Kelly, it has to do with wanting the team to win some games. If Kelly needs time to regain his timing, his accuracy, his confidence that's fine - but maybe Dinwiddie should use his other quarterbacks in some series to take the pressure off of Kelly and give the Argos the chance to win some games. And yeah Rourke practiced in another league with a different set of downs, rules etc - well apparently Kelly was training and practicing in New York the entire time he was suspended.

Like Kelly, hate him. Like Dinwiddie, hate him. Like the defensive schemes, hate them. None of those feelings change the fact that this team is in a hole it's extremely unlikely to get out of this season. Five points behind Ottawa with six games left, and facing another short week with a long road trip and a late start against a B.C. team that seems to have regained its mojo, mean it will take a miracle to get up to second place. Having already lost the season series with Hamilton, Argos could still be challenged for third although that's unlikely. And with Edmonton winning four of its past five games, the possibility of another western crossover is back in play. Imagine going into Edmonton for the season's final game, winner gets in and loser goes home. It could happen.

You realize the two are completely different? Kelly throwing to receivers on an empty field is different than an NFL preseason camp/game?

I can’t take anything you say about the Argos seriously. You drew your line in the sand when the Kelly accusations were there whether you want to acknowledge it or not. You treat him like a criminal, and that can’t be further from the truth.
You have not had any positive comments about the team since. It’s your right to do so. But a part of me can’t help but think you want them to lose so they don’t bring Kelly back. Sorry Paul, but that’s too rich for me.

Sarcastic much??? And BTW TSN was reporting how little practice time Rourke was actually getting in the preseason camps.
