Hamilton may have a very successful passing game, expect big numbers from Kenny Lawler.

Sad thing there is, if/when Dyce gets fired it will be either of the same old dullards Campbell or Condell who get the job. Dyce has had his shot and despite some success last year, the overall picture there remains the same: simpleton, predictable offence and woefully weak D talent at certain spots combined with poor schemes and D coaching.
What they really need to do IMO is get rid of their GM this off-season and start with some fresh football people who know Canadian ball, and quit with the GOB recycling.
Re: Ottawa REDBLACKS
REDBLACKS GM Shawn Burke shouldn’t escape unscathed as he has done a lousy job building their roster which is somewhat surprising considering his involvement in assembling some pretty strong Hamilton teams.OV Argo wrote: ↑Mon Jul 21, 2025 8:03 pmgilthethrill wrote: ↑Sun Jul 20, 2025 10:16 pmOttawa loses again with a Tommy Condell offense that employs a 5 yard throw downfield type offense. Burke has been so-so at bringing in talent there IMO; not like they are way behind most CFL teams in the talent department, but they continue to have some weak areas - mostly the D secondary which routinely gets burned (though losing a top DB in Webb to free agency, plus starting safety Addae to injury this season has not helped); and O-line is average to weak. So - that is 2 big position groups (5 starters) where they are often weak.
They do have plenty of talent at receiver; Stanback & Adeboboye are a very strong 1-2 punch at RB; some good D-line talent; Pickett was a great pick-up at S-OLB and young Cormier is an up and comer at W-OLB (though he might be better starting at safety for them IMO). And Brown is more of a safe, short passing game / game manager QB but did mostly good things last year; Crum is a good change of pace, mobile QB for an OC who would know how to deploy one.
It's much more the poor deployment, game plans, play-calling (dumb, simple offence) = all coaching weakness.

Among Burkes larger mistakes was not hiring Corey Mace. He interviewed him while he was DC with Toronto after his first season at the Argos when they won GC in 2022. Did not offer him the job. He chose to go with Dyce.
Make Clemons President!!!

Dyce seems like a very decent guy but not a great HC, some very curious in game decisions.

Massive win for the RB's and their fans. Lots of Parity in the league just now. Can't take any one for granted ... especially in last 3 minutes...
Re: Ottawa REDBLACKS
Some serious undisciplined play by BC, and perhaps the worst coaches challenge for PI that I have ever seen. How do you challenge for PI when nobody is near the intended receiver? He must have wanted to challenge for illegal contact on McInnis, but that is not challengeable. Just a really unprepared coaching staff.ARGOFanIan wrote: ↑Sat Sep 06, 2025 9:54 am Massive win for the RB's and their fans. Lots of Parity in the league just now. BC D is weak - Benny is useless as a DC.
Dustin Crum wins this game for Ottawa - 2 tough TD runs and then a beauty deep pass followed by a TD strike to win the game; doubt he will ever be viewed as a full-time starter by the clique of standard look, simpleton OCs who rule the CFL now, but that game goes to show what a mobile, run threat QB can do - pass & run - to put up points and win games. Too bad Rourke can't be coached up to do a lot more running cause that is a strength of his to go along with a superior passing arm - wasted potential IMO.
