Just a question regarding attendance at Saturday's game. They opened up the upper deck on the East side for this game because the lower bowl and West side was mostly sold out except for single seats when you viewed the Ticketmaster map last week.
Yes.
Except there were plenty of empty seats scattered throughout the lower bowl and West side.
West side seemed pretty full to me. Empties on the lower bowl east side for sure.
Were these tickets actually sold?
Maybe,
Who were they sold to?
People.
Enjoy the -1C temperature in Edmonton Friday night.

Except there were plenty of empty seats scattered throughout the lower bowl and West side. Were these tickets actually sold? Who were they sold to? Because they were empty all game. I know the announced attendance was over 20,000 and that's what it would have been had all of the seats been filled with fans. As a result the crowd noise was not as I expected.
I did buy extra seats for this game and I was disappointed that other sections I would have bought into had loads of empty seats.
Any thoughts here? I wouldn't mind hearing from Mike Hogan if he has some thoughts.
The ST holders next to me were not there. Also, 2 of my 6 tickets went unused. My section (126) is completely sold out for the season and there’s always seats. Multiply this by the rest of the stadium and you’re going to have sold but empties. I thought the crowd noise was great but we are always a boisterous section, as is 226 above, they rock.

Thanks. We are normally section 225, and yes it is noisy regardless of crowd size. I could not get additional seats in 225 or 226 so had to get 221. It just seemed a little quieter and alot of empty seats even though the entire section was sold out.
The game was over quick with Ottawa waiting until the 55 minute mark to fight back so that takes the crowd out of it somewhat. The playoff game will be intense throughout the stadium all game long - I'm not worried about that, and there won't be empty seats. Those who buy will be there for sure.

. Argos D line is best in the league with not only with great talent but also great depth
. It has been stated Grant was not resigned by the Peg because of fumble concerns--we saw that today
. Kelly is back to MOP form
. The 25 point 4th Q by Ottawa may be a blessing in disguise as the team will have to recognize a full 60 minute effort is needed in the Eastern final
, Why wasn't Adeleke playing SAM all season?
Not sure I agree on the 25 point RedBlacks 4th quarter being some sort of blessing; if it had been 10 or so points, maybe; but Ottawa scored at will against a suddenly wimpy Argo D and Dru Brown ended up with 400 passing yards in this game. IMO this could send a message to Ottawa players they can win in the big game and do plenty against the Argo D. This game should have been a foot on the pedal, 45 - 6 type score beat-down = that woulda sent the proper message.
I'll disagree with your disagreement. The score was 38 - 12 with less than 5 min to play. The game was over. Even the TV announcers were talking like it was over. Re-watching that last 5 min on TV, you could see a let down in the intensity of Argos play. Poor, sloppy tackling. And of the two on-side kicks they recovered, they were very fortunate, especially on the second one which Brissett hand in his hands, but it then bounced off his chest. Either of those plays ending up Argos ball, and the game was over. And Wynton McMannis in his post-game interview (love the tooth pick always being there!) basically said the same thing. They can't let down like that at end of the game. So, I think this will be a reminder for the whole team of that basic truth... play the whole game. IMO, a blowout win would have been worse, because that is much more motivating for the Ottawa players, who are pros, and hate to be embarrased.

A handful of players and staffers threw some mini autographed footballs into the seats - i hardly even knew this was happening but a kid showed me the one he caught.

It was pretty underwhelming considering everyone was told to stay in their seats.

Especially since it was advertised as a "customer appreciation" game. Just another example about how the business side of this franchise is not keeping up.

Here's another example: Last year I tried to buy some Argos merch from RealSports on-line. When I tried to enter my ST membership number to get the 15% discount I got an error message telling me to try again. Multiple times later, I ended up calling the Argos and finally got a one-time discount code sent to me. Was told then that it was a glitch in their software that they would fix. Well guess what.... tried again this year to buy on-line and that same thing happened. Same problem, one year later, that was never looked at or fixed. Speaks volumes of how little Argos mean to MLSE.

The glitch being the Argos aren't recognized within the MLSE system of being part of MLSE 8 years later and they give a rats ass about making it right.
Pinball is the "acting" President I believe. The good thing with Pelley running MLSE, Pinball should just run the team as he sees fit. Submit plans to Pelley. We know others are doing the scouting and recruiting of players.
