The media is going to have a field day with the headlines potentially saying that we lost to a crippled QB.

Blowing an 18 point lead speaks for itself.argosrule1524 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 10:41 pm The media is going to have a field day with the headlines potentially saying that we lost to a crippled QB.
Shades of the game at McMahon Stadium last year.

A fumble and a pick in the last 3 minutes, pretty sad example of ball control. But if you are Montreal, imagine losing this one on the goal-line strip would be really hard to take. So now it's a home+home with the Bombers, things are really grim folks.

D-line with little pass rush pressure and zero sacks - not good enough and changes needed (i guess Ojo is a write-off - for the obvious reason - zero playing time to see if he can help).
Arbuckle can't protect the ball when it matters most.
No real ground game - going to be problem going forward. McMahon is not a starting calibre RB who can carry a load; but a good change of pace guy anyways.
Mital is a stud receiver; and his receptions to targets ratio is off the charts outstanding. Leads the league now in both # of receptions and YAC yards.
A mid to late season rally is possible if Kelly returns; thank gawd Ottawa & Hamilton are in the East.

The losses just keep getting worse. Thought the Riders game was a gut punch, but then we had that embarrassing performance against the Tiger Cats. Thought it couldn't get worse than that, but here we are after dropping a big lead against the Als. Surely we'll have a decent performance against the Bombers...doubt it.Will wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 10:43 pmBlowing an 18 point lead speaks for itself.argosrule1524 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 10:41 pm The media is going to have a field day with the headlines potentially saying that we lost to a crippled QB.

Didn't Winnipeg start the season 1-5 last year? There might be some hope.

We had a backup QB playing then too. Will wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 10:43 pmBlowing an 18 point lead speaks for itself.argosrule1524 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 10:41 pm The media is going to have a field day with the headlines potentially saying that we lost to a crippled QB.

Arbuckle got through 57 minutes without turning over the football. If he had gone turnover-free tonight, it would have been the first time that happened this season.TrueBlueGuy wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 10:48 pm A fumble and a pick in the last 3 minutes, pretty sad example of ball control. But he didn't and that fumble couldn't have come at a worst time.ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Thu Jul 17, 2025 10:57 pmArbuckle got through 57 minutes without turning over the football. This game was just so strange, so CFL. I cannot remember any game where a team does not run the ball even once during its first 16 plays.
What? that's not football
And the hustle by Slywka on the goal-line was awesome. The leaping pass knockdown in the endzone was superb athletic skill.
And Ungerer was so open on his TD, it was a stunner.
Love the CFL and the Argos, but mostly just appreciate the plays that are made. Great to watch.

1st half was almost perfect.
In the 2nd half, the o-line basically broke down. First down production sucked, and they couldn't provide enough passing lanes. Pass rush couldn't get home. D allowed too many 2nd and long conversions. Punting wasn't very good all game.
