Sort of interesting but not at all CFL surprising.

At least Buck is a former very good Lions player AND has paid his dues coaching on a very strong CFL team (5 straight GC appearances), for years. They could have given the job to recycled Benevides or brought in a dullard like LaPo for another kick at the can.

I'm also very glad the EE did not hire / recycle same old GOB Campbell as HC (to carry on his daddy's legacy sort of story), Instead the job went to another veteran coach (but not a former CFL HC recycle job) who was part of a (once) strong team for many years; and a Canadian - from Alberta / raised on Alberta football !
How many Canadian head coaches are we up to now, OV? Four - Dyce, Mace, Killam, and O'Shea. That's almost half of the league's head coaches. If we count Dave Dickenson, who is now a Canadian citizen, that's the majority.

I wouldn't count that clown Dickenson in - he's a typical American GOB - always strives for 7 only need apply / Canadians need not apply at certain positions; caught on mic whining to the refs about the Bombers "F-ing Canadian Mafia" (the height of CFL hypocricy) - a total goof who has ruined the former powerhouse Stamps team IMO..

I'd urge you to look at total coaching staffs around the league if u think there is some big take-over of Canadian football decision making going on around the CFL.

Interesting to see how he does with the head coaching title.

According to 3DN, the Lions have lost their first and 2nd round draft picks by going nearly 350k over the salary cap in 2024.
Crime doesn't pay!!!!

Their picks will now go Calgary due to their last place finish, but will be taken at the end of each round

The new BC Lions with Buck P as HC and Nathan Rourke supposedly CFL refreshed have started the season with 2 very different games:

- a convincing home win over the EE where Rourke looked sharp, followed by a bad loss in Winnipeg (Bombers seem to have Rourke's # ?); maybe O'Shea & co. knowing Buck's offensive likes helped their D kill the BC O) ? And BC with the luxury of 4 starting American O-linemen should be able to just dominate on offence - giving Rourke tons of time and opening huge holes for their run game - not to be this game = who knew? And the Bombers playing with the huge "ratio problem" risk of starting a Canadian at tailback (no way a team could have any depth there), managed to survive the loss of Oliveira with former 1st team all-Canadian RB Matthew Peterson stepping in and going off for over 100 yards including a beauty 30 some yard TD run = who knew ? And the Bombers ran the ball more than they passed while BC had way more pass plays than run calls = who knew ?

The West might be up for grabs amongst all teams this year? I wanted to write-off the Bombers as too old and with too much loss of talent (Ty Ford, Lawler, Dobson from the O-line) ... but maybe not this season ?

While Masoli's peak in the CFL was with Hamilton, it is sad to see a QB who has had success in this league as shell of his former self.

I hope BC employs the same Defensive strategy against the Argos that did vs Hamilton when they meet.
