They were okay for a half but there's no reason why Kelly can't exploit that defence like Alexander did.

I normally like the Als, but it was satisfying to see them lose to Winnipeg and I had a feeling it would happen.

Last week as they were crushing Ottawa, they were being very cocky and celebrated way too hard after touchdowns. Ottawa right now is a historically bad team, have some class.

Nice to see them get knocked back down to Earth.

yes it was nice to see Montreal lose one. Collaros still has the smarts, if not the speed.

big bounce-back win by the Als to end the BC winning streak.
BC pushed back though...excellent football game
Theis gets hurt, but the Als carry on regardless. THIS is a quality CFL team.

Will they go undefeated at home in 2026???

Now it is Sep 18th and am watching the Als thump the Tabbies, in the Hammer.
no surprise there, except...

Als are missing 3 of their 5 starting DBs tonite, and still H.Frost cannot score a TD against them.
Goes to show the solid front 7 in the Montreal D can get it done themselves.
And the Offense has a 2nd string running back playing, but cannot even tell that is the case.

This Montreal team is, after 15 weeks, the class of the 2026 CFL.

Als vaunted D with Thorpe still not near a real dominant D (missing some secondary starters though lately); more like half decent. Sorry, but real good defences can throttle some teams in some games, and they cannot.

They will win the GC - if they do - with their offence; Alexander is an outstanding young QB and Philpot is IMO the best all-around CFL receiver in years and years.

And and as an aside - as a fan of diversity in Canadian football offence: gotta give Maas & Calvillo some kudos - aside from their basic 5 pack offence, they deploy 2 H-backs some in Mason & Dallaire; they have recent draft pick signing Jones as a big body addition playing TE or slot back, and they use O-lineman Ventrelli as a TE option (2 catches recently including a TD tonight), and even depth receiver Regis Sibasu has been in on offence a bit; and they have RB depth with outstanding Theis and big powerback Stevie Scott available. No other CFL team has near that diversity or faith in deploying so many guys/weapons of O.

Call me an optimist, but I think this team is beatable.

The 2023 Argos taught us that, sadly, anything is possible.

On a more positive note, so did the 2024 Argos

Montreal wins again at home over the Bombers Oct 3rd.
This Montreal team has it all going and now two games to play backups and get everybody prepped for East Final.
Do not see how they can be stopped.

Check out the 2023 Toronto Argonauts, any team can be beat on any given day.
