The Stumps have just signed NFL journeyman QB PJ Walker (had some NFL starts last season); I'll bet he will be given every opportunity to win the starter job there.
Wonder if the Bombers would go after Tre Ford - to join his brother and be the heir apparent to Collaros ?
Agreed - that a lot might ride on upcoming play-off performances; Ottawa might get that Dru Brown is more of an average game manager type. Als 2nd stringer Alexander might be in high demand after flashing some good talent this season. VA has to go somewhere as a presumptive starter ?

Tre Ford to Winnipeg is intriguing. I keep thinking he wants to start now. But he really hasn't been anywhere to learn from that solid veteran. That should have been the case this season in Edmonton with MBT, but I am not getting that vibe that that was the setup there. Jones did not handle Ford right, and I'm not so sure Jackson has either. I don't think there is much hope for Edmonton to keep him unless the new owner and president set up the right GM and Coach and then make Ford an offer. The thing is he would be way better off in Winnipeg to learn under a HOF QB in Collaros for 1-2 more years and get his playing time in and under some excellent coaching with O'Shea. Plus as you said he gets to play with his twin brother. Hamilton should be doing everything they can to get both Ford brothers home. Winnipeg could be good for many years to come and put the Old Eskimo dynasty in it's sights. If they get to the GC this year that's 5 in a row. The Eskimos went to 6 in a row winning 5 of them from 1977-1982.

I have always been intrigued by PJ Walker myself so it's worth a shot for the Stampeders.
Dru Brown has been okay this year for Ottawa but nothing that special. He had terrific games in Edmonton and at home to BC but I can't say that he has blown me away exactly.

Who starts at QB for Ottawa in the play-off game will be interestin; I'll bet it will be Brown, but I'd be inclined to give Masoli the shot.

Thing is in the Peg, the Canadian Mafia with O'Shea & Walters, have shown zero interest in giving any Canadian QB any type of shot; I'm not sure they will be much interested in Tre Ford, but maybe, and he might not come cheap (but he also might) ?
The Ticats are too dumb / GOB entrenched to have any big plans to try to get the Ford bros., IMO. And Tyrell has been close to the best corner in the league this year IMO. It would be a very nice get for them to get both of those guys (marketing the Ontario guys might pay some dividends), but i just can't see them spending the coin or having real interest.

O'Shea and Walter's I think do go out of their way not to make passport an issue because they are the Cdn mafia and they want to win and be judged on merit not some kind of CFL affirmative action plan. But deep down as Canadians who played and have a deep understanding of the history of our game I believe they are rooting for their fellow Canadians. And quietly they have built their team with all star Canadian players....Oliveira, Demski, Ford, at "skill" positions. I think with Collaros as the starter they would bring Tre in, like Oliveira tutored under Harris.

For the first time in CFL history the best team in the league has failed to qualify for the post season.

Thankfully the Ticat faithful will need to stick to wearing their Boveralls at weddings.

You don’t want to know.
