Yes that's true and you have to wonder what in the world could have provoked the guest to behave in such a manner. You think the league employee might have mentioned what is appropriate - like should you even walk up to the bench and engage the players and/or coaching staff.ARGO57 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 6:42 pmThe guest of a league employee uttering racial slurs does in fact reflect poorly on the league employee who should be embarrassed.kellynjk wrote: ↑Tue Aug 13, 2024 2:10 pm While I completely agree that the behaviour of the "guest of a league employee" was awful and totally inappropriate, it was a guest, not an employee of the league, so I think a review of who is allowed on the field seems appropriate or what guidelines are in place to bring guests to game and what is expected of them etc. I think likely the best they can do is ban the guest from any future games and talk to the employee about it in the hopes that nothing like it happens again.

I'm channeling Kramer from the Kenny Rogers Roasters episode.
Lying in bed, eating chicken (it's the wood, that makes it good), Kenny?, Kenny?
Except I'm saying....Randy?, Randy?

Re: Kelly
I have zero faith and confidence in the league's "due process". No transparency and shifting goalposts the entire way through this debacle. But what else would we expect from this current regime? They are making it up as they go.
To me the Kelly matter has felt like a point-and-shriek race to the moral high ground from the start.
Kelly, no saint, has paid a greater price than any other player in league history. A league which has had violent crime and drug offenders. The league Most Outstanding Player (stupidly) crossed some boundaries and hurt some feelings.
End this now, Randy.
And hand in your resignation while you're at it, you joke of a commissioner.

Agreed on all points but 1. Johnny Manziel paid a greater price, and talking about lack of transparency, we still have no idea why Randy kicked him out of the league.bluto wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 3:41 pm I have zero faith and confidence in the league's "due process". Manziel lost a $125k contract iirc.AngeloV wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 4:31 pmAgreed on all points but 1. The league (Ambrosie) really put the screws to Manziel to which he rebelled and broke some conditions to ensure he was released from his CFL contract.AngeloV wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 4:31 pmAgreed on all points but 1. Detailed in the 3Down article below.
Manziel also no angel but Ambrosie appears to be a total prick behind the scenes, no surprise there.

Re: Kelly
The only way that would be true is if Kelly's entire contract was base salary, which it almost certainly is not. He likely received a large signing bonus and it has been reported he's getting (or already got) $100k in marketing money outside of base salary. The amount of money he has lost for missing nine game cheques is likely closer to $150k than $300k, I'd bet.

Re: Kelly
I wonder if the team has realized the savings from Kelly's absence for cap purposes. Cos if so, then what were the cap concerns used when Rasheed Bailey was released?paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 7:56 pmThe only way that would be true is if Kelly's entire contract was base salary, which it almost certainly is not. Re: Kelly
I don't think Bailey was a Salary Cap casualty but a numbers casualty. Several Receivers returned from injury and the team is high in Polk who is 8 years younger and more of a deep threat than Bailey. However Ambrosie is still an idiot.primetime321 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 14, 2024 8:50 pmI wonder if the team has realized the savings from Kelly's absence for cap purposes.
