They made good adjustments in the 2nd half defensively, but, still could not get the key stop they needed on the last Ti-Cats drive. Whatever zone they were playing in the first half, take it out of the play book. I really wish they had kept Oakman.
Offensively, they just need to finish off drives. settling for 5 FG's is not great. Nice to have the kicker that can make them, but you can't settle that often. Nicastro getting blown up on the QB draw irked me. IMO, he's much better at guard. I hope if Ciraco comes back healthy, they move him back to C and Nicastro to G.
Now 1-4 on the road. That has to change.

On the positive, nice to see the receivers feel a part of the game again. Down field passing is nice to see. Carey ran well again.

Want to say thanks to Argo57 for hosting the get together at his place yesterday. Always great to get together with the boys (gilthethrill, Argolio) for a road game.
I was thinking about Ciraco last night. He was hurt in training camp but dressed as a backup for the first game or two. Then he went on the injured list where he has been ever since. I wonder if he will return this season or not. I wonder the same about Brissett too.

Could be another Muamba move like last season? Sure are a lot Canadian guys injured; same with some other teams in the league ?

Smart teams try upgrades or give back-ups who have put in time a chance when the team is struggling. You can also rotate guys in for different looks or packages rather than sticking with "starters" mostly. They did go to Vandal from MacKellar. Like to see Cassar get some shots at MLB - a big body who might help in run stopping; Sopik is a smart, nose for the ball LB but not good at blitzing IMO, so try somebody else in situations. Mital made a superb one handed grab down the seam yesterday - hope he gets more playing time. I didn't notice Adeleke on the field on D even once yesterday - again, what was the point of signing a proven vet play-maker like that?

The return of McMannis & Brinkman will help lots, but not sure this D has it to win tough games like the play-offs, and it might be more schemes and adjustments rather than the less talent overall than last season. The offence with Kelly back is strong all-over and should be able to score lots of points.

Unless Ottawa implodes, I don't envision a scenario that sees the Argos getting that spot. Two of the 3 wins this weak Hamilton team has this year have come against us, which is embarrassing/infuriating, not to mention losing the season series. I guess we'll have to be road warriors to win another title.
They don't need Ottawa to implode. Argos are 3 points back and play Ottawa twice. They control their own destiny still.

This is a good point. Notwithstanding the adjustments, the Ticats were able to move the ball effectively once the Argos went up 28-27. The Argos got one stop, but the Ticats got the single point on the punt.

I hope you are right about not needing Ottawa to implode.

It's mathematics. Win both games against Ottawa and play even with them over the rest of the schedule, and the Argos will get 2nd place.

Ott has what looks like an easier schedule than Toronto. Aside from the two teams' home-and-away, Ott has home games against Mtl and Ham, and road games against Ham, Sask and Mtl. Tor has home games against Ham and Mtl, and road games against BC, Wpg and Edm. Given that Argos have won once on the road so far, and have road trips to what look like the three best teams in the West (including a trip to B.C. just six days after a road game in Ott), it's gonna be quite a challenge to both sweep Ott and match their performance the rest of the season. If Toronto doesn't win this week, it will almost certainly be moot.

There is a lot of parity in the league. You can’t say who has a harder remaining schedule of the 2 teams.

Ott has one game outside its own time zone, and one road game that's a 2-hour drive. Tor has to go to three time zones and has the dreaded 10 pm game. I know which schedule I'd prefer.
