I don't like harping on the refs, but that PI call on Franklin when he was covering Lawler (I think it set up Bridges 4th Quarter TD) was just horrible. The Argos D have been good denying 2 point converts this season. That lone Sack yesterday turned out to be huge.
Having said that, if Dinwiddie challenged and lost, we would have lost the game. Keeping that time out was huge in leaving the Argos time to make that final play.
Agreed Coach was wise to keep the flag in his pocket.
I think that Dinwiddie is, understandably, gun-shy about challenging. There appeared to be an obvious interference on Polk in the 2nd or 3rd quarter that would have kept a drive alive in Hamilton territory but I think Dinwiddie is wary of challenging after getting burned so often, even in situations that should have been certain wins for him.

Also lost in all this griping about a mistake that wasn't actually a mistake in the end, is the fact that the Argos are back in thick of things. Second place is wide open now, we have meaningful fall football ahead of us and the team can get better. Things were looking grim a month ago.

Agreed. We also will get a better sense this upcoming weekend as to who the Argos' targets should be the rest of the season. After this next weekend, everyone will have played 12 games. If BC, Montreal, and Saskatchewan all win, there could be four 6-6 teams with the Argos needing to beat out one, along with Edmonton and Ottawa who they're already ahead.
Who should we be rooting for this weekend? Ottawa, Montreal, and Saskatchewan? Ottawa would only tie the Argos with a win but Toronto holds the tiebreaker.

Maybe the Argo spotters had a replay where they saw Franklin grab Lawler or something, but it sure didn't look like PI on the broadcast.

I can't imagine teams have access to replays that TV viewers don't see. The all-24 camera captures every player, but I doubt it provides the type of image that would help settle such matters, if it's even rewindable in real time. One of the issues with CFL broadcasts is the small number of cameras and replays.

At this point I think we should hope for losses by the teams that are most likely to push the Argos out of the playoffs, i.e. Ottawa, Edmonton, B.C. and Winnipeg. Montreal and Hamilton are catchable, in theory, but that will sort itself out over time. One thing that is obvious is the Argos need to keep winning. IMO they cannot afford to lose any of their next four games (Edm, Mtl, at BC, Ham).

I think Brissett’s decision to try and score was foolish, selfish and undisciplined. Obviously he defied Coach’s instructions to go down before the clock ran out, and that can’t be justified by invoking some uncontrollable football instinct that he may have experienced. He is a professional after all.
And he is lucky. This would have been one of the worst game-losing blunders in Argos history.
But it’s about time that Karma starts bending our way in 2025. I thought Bo was celebrating way too much with 18 seconds left. The football gods have spoken!
Brissett admitted after the game that he regretted not going out of bounds. He will be spoken to about it and will learn.
Why would he regret anything? We won the game didn’t we? Such negativity on his part, and on the coaches for criticizing his bold football instincts.

Easy for anyone to say from their couch. If you legit think you are going to score, nothing is stopping you to go for it at that moment. They already had a bad snap/hold combination on the previous FG attempt.
Seriously?
Every person watching the game and in the stands knew that there were only twelve seconds remaining.
Enough time for two plays. A long pass and a field goal. Make the catch and fall down or go out of bounds. No need to score a touchdown.
Polk was scolding him for the stupid play.
Have you ever been in that situation? Guessing not. Like I said, easy to say from your couch, but when you believe in your mind you have a sure TD, as I'm sue he did, you are not going to step out. Stop acting like you would have done it differently if it was you, because you would never know that, even though you think you do.
To play devil's advocate, and I still think he should have went down FWIW, does your reaction or opinion change if he got caught being out of bounds with 0 seconds left or was short getting the TD and Argos lose the game? Easier to just let bygones be bygones when the team wins, no?

Not at all. My point was that it is something that is easy to say from the couch. None of us can clearly say what we would have done in that situation. Should he have gone down or out of bounds earlier? Probably. But in his mind he had a clear path to the end zone. Nobody would go down if they believed they had a clear path to the end zone. Calling him dumb or selfish is what I have a problem with.

Well said and good point for sure, the Argos need to take care of their own business (keep winning) and see where it leads them.
What a swing in emotions experienced in the last couple of minutes of yesterday’s game.
