From Ambrosie's perspective, an in-person mtg is essential IMO. Reinstating him or extending the suspension -- either way, the criticism of the commissioner would be even worse than it will be (and there will be criticism either way) if he didn't even bother to meet with Kelly.

I expect him to be reinstated. I am actually quite shocked Randy didn't wait until next Wednesday after the walk through for Thursday's game, ensuring he would not be available.

Couldn't the 'PA arguably grieve that by saying that the league, in effect, made it a 10-game suspension by waiting until the last minute?

I really don’t think the PA has a lot of stroke.

IMO that would be a very difficult grievance to win. Once he's reinstated, he starts getting game cheques unless he's placed on the PR, which is unlikely to happen. So if he misses only nine game cheques, the suspension would be what it was announced as. It's all purely hypothetical since there is almost no chance Ambrosie waits beyond today to make an announcement.
