For the 2028 L.A. Summer Olympics, Canada should field its absolute best possible flag football team from CFL/NFL players. Fast, Twitchy, Good Hands skill players. USA will be putting out a good team expecting to win. Canada can catch them sleeping for sure.
As of today, here are just some players. 4 years from now it could look much different. 5 sets of brothers, 3 twins.
Team Canada / CFL should take leadership and have a pre CFL training camp or winter camps after NFL season ends to build familiarity and timing.
GM - Michael Clemons/Danny Macioca/Kyle Walters
Head Coach - Mike O'Shea
Asst - Corey Mace
Asst - Bob Dyce
Asst - Glen Constantin

John Metchie
Kevin Mital
Dejon Brissett
Justin McInnis

Quarterback tryouts for the Canadian Senior Mens National Team on Dec 1/2024
Jordan Heather
Ben Maracle
Chris Merchant
Michael O'Connor
Dimitri Sinosinos
I'm sure these guys will impress so well, that they will immediately be signed by a CFL team following the tournament

I'm sure OV Argo agrees with me
It would great if Michael O'Connor got a second chance., and Chris Merchant got a first real chance.
I can't wait, to see the total final roster.
I thought Merchant had suffered a serious injury while playing pro over in Europe that forced him to retire ? Former Saint Mary's QB Kaleb Scott - CFL never heard of him - was playing pro in the German League (biggest / best country league in Europe apparently) up till last season (?)
And I guess O'Connor's "injury" that saw him get demoted in BC was not that serious ? - so why did all other CFL teams ignore him ?
Heather won a Hec a good number of years ago, but I saw his name playing Senior ball in Canada somewhere.
Former Hec winner Adam Sinagra i heard was playing in the big touch (or flag ?) league in Montreal after the CFL totally snubbed him.
Is this for an international tournament of American football (i.e. not touch or flag for the Olympics or other such not real football tourneys?)

Flag or touch football is all passing, with no hitting or line play or tackling of course. Receivers on O & cover guys on D, and the rusher would be a fast guy.
I'd add DBs Ben St-Juste (starting corner for Washington in the NFL) & Deane Leonard (played some corner for the Chargers) to the Canadian defence TC competition.
The Canadian receiver crew should be superb and not sure who the starting 6 would be ? (I'd add Schaeffer-Baker to the list above); a RB is not really needed unless the guy has blazing speed and moves to go with good hands. And a blazing fast QB is such a plus in that kind of ball - Tre Ford the easy #1 guy there; but Nathan Rourke is a good runner and might get the nod for better pure passing skills.

TSN gridiron nation talks about the Canadian National Team. It starts about 30:00.

I believe they will be releasing the final roster next Thursday. Only thing revealed in the episode were the final quarterbacks, Chris Merchant and Michael O'Connor. Chris Merchant was signed by Montreal but never really give a fair chance. Played in Europe though. Michael O'Connor last played for the BC Lions but was cut when they traded for Vernon Adams Jr. I look forward to following the team to see who potentially could make it back to the CFL. Also like to see the European teams to see who might come to the CFL as globals.

I don't believe O'Connor was cut by the Lions; he did start for them for one game when Nathan Rourke got injured, but was knocked out of the game with what did not appear to be a major injury, and then (surprisingly; Ok, not really ...) never played for them again, nor got another CFL chance/look (shocker). Why, for example, would the Argos have not brought him back, into TC to compete, when he had CFL roster experience for several years, if he was not injured /damaged goods? - instead they preferred raw rookies (Dukes & Scott ) from lower levels of US college ball ??? - speaks volumes IMO.
And again, I thought I had read Merchant was forced to retire from playing pro in Europe due to serious injury ???
I guess neither guy was injured / disabled that bad if they are the 2 finalists for the National team ?
