2025 UFL Season
With TC about to start, the UFL is under the possibility of a Players Strike. The 24 league QBs did not attend a mini camp recently due to salary related issues. There was a "Negligible Increase" the $55G the players earn. Year round health care is another thing players want.
Markets are reporting slow ticket sales. League Dynasty Birmingham and Flag Ship Franchise St Loius are both reporting 40% ST renewal rates. I can't image how bad it is in the other 6 cities.
League is slated to kickoff March 28.

Kick-to-the-curb date to be announced.
Re: 2025 UFL Season
I am having a hard time seeing this league existing beyond 2025.

Should be some good talent heading to the CFL soon.gilthethrill wrote: ↑Sat Mar 01, 2025 1:09 pm With TC about to start, the UFL is under the possibility of a Players Strike. Re: 2025 UFL Season
Striking against a struggling league in year 2 seems misguided at best. Most of these guys will never play again.
$55,000 USD = $80,000 CDN (for now) for those fortunate enough to be talented enough to play in the CFL. I could see Bank of Canada taking our dollar down to 60 - 65 cents to offset a weaker economy by tariffs or threat of tariffs. Maybe that's a contributing factor regarding MLSE staff cuts.

Paying backups the same as full time starters seems off to me. The owners are losing buckets of cash, fan interest is low, yet recently the league was talking expansion. There is no star power on any roster.Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Tue Mar 11, 2025 1:55 pm Striking against a struggling league in year 2 seems misguided at best. Most of these guys will never play again.

Re: 2025 UFL Season
The season starts Friday night with St Loius visiting Houston. Despite all the doom & gloom with the labour issue and season ticket renewals down significantly across the league, expansion is being discussed.
Footnote: Last seasons Argos KR hopeful Xavier " Mayday" Malone has made the opening game roster of the Michigan Panthers.
Footnote #2: OL Ryan Coll who spent 18 hours on the roster has secured employment with the St Louis Battle Hawks.

The expansion talk is a little ridiculous.gilthethrill wrote: ↑Mon Mar 24, 2025 11:09 am The season starts Friday night with St Loius visiting Houston. Despite all the doom & gloom with the labour issue and season ticket renewals down significantly across the league, expansion is being discussed.

Rumor has I only 2-3 K tickets have been sold for tomorrow nights season opener in Houston. When the league announced Friday night games, many UFL fans rejoiced thinking that move would be a huge success.
