Daily Bread Food Bank

Calling all interested volunteers πŸ“£
Join Daily Bread for an exciting volunteer opportunity at a Toronto Argonauts Football Club game this Saturday, August 9 at 12:30 pm. We’re looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to help welcome fans as they arrive at BMO Field 🏈
Volunteers will direct fans with food donations to our yellow collection bins and support monetary donations using TipTap devices. Donations are being collected as part of the Purolator 'Tackle Hunger' initiative, with all donations supporting local food banks. We're incredibly grateful for the support of this amazing program in Toronto!

Better words than mine from face book ARGO fans - Thanks

Friendly PSA: In case you didn't hear, this Saturday's game against Ottawa is the Purolator Tackle Hunger game night. Chris Schultz was Purolator Tackle Hunger's biggest spokesperson. On the day in which we honour him and Nick Volpe by adding them to the All Time Argos list, it would be fantastic if we could top the Argos donation record! Bring your non perishable food items! #PullTogether.

I wanted to let you know that the Daily Bread Foodbank will set-up outside of BMO Field on Saturday prior to the game to collect non-perishable food items or tap with a financial donation. The need is great in the city, and they will be holding two drives this season. The initial Purolator Tackle Hunger event for Toronto is scheduled for October. Ryan Hunter OL was on Breakfast TV this morning speaking about the need and program. Please consider opening your heart and making a difference on Saturday. Thanks!

We all know how passionate Chris Schultz was about Purolator Tackle Hunger so let's honour him by doing our best to help those in need.

Join us at BMO Stadium on Saturday, October 4 at 3:00pm to cheer on the Toronto Argonauts Football Club as they take on the Hamilton Tiger-Cats β€” and help ensure no one in our city goes hungry.
We'll be collecting non-perishable food items and monetary donations at every entrance to help support Torontonians facing food insecurity. Each pound of food or dollar donated can provide the equivalent of one meal for someone in need.
Head to: https://bit.ly/3qEpKse to learn how you can join us in teaming up with Purolator and the Argos to tackle hunger this fall!

I think the previous food drive game ... was just maybe because of Chris being honored.

I think this is the official Purolator game... I think the CEO of the food bank... jumps in to help with promotion with Kate Burness ... I see him at lots of the games.... was worried it wasn't going to happen.

I am really glad we are doing this...Stuff like this and the CFL Fans Fight Cancer.... nice to be a small part of...

I also wonder if they are doing a 2nd Purolator Tackle Hunger game because the Exhibition grounds were a mess when they did it the first time for the game against Ottawa. I didn't see anyone collection donations on the South side.

I saw about 3 to 5 Daily Bread volunteers total collecting donations so would be easy to miss them ... at the gates on the East / South and south West side. I get there late so maybe they were not their earlier. I didn't see any Purolator people so thinking this was a Food Bank / Chris Shultz related event ?

TBH I was surprised how much food appeared to be collected as there was limited promotion... Shout out to the Daily Bread Food Bank , their volunteers and CFL fans who brought stuff.

Our players do amazing supporting stuff like this ... This is a ton of work for a small group of volunteers... money is tight etc... Purolator is a CFL sponsor.. This is a good cause... IMO.

Not to be a negative Ned but I wish our communication team would send an email ... update the web site ... update social media ... so word gets out about this kind of stuff... and to avoid confusion...

Go ARGOS !!!

Not a negative Ned at all. It's true. Our website is the least active in the league.

If only a media conglomerate owned the team. Then we could have pre and post game radio shows as well and fans could call in just like every other team have. Too bad our owners don't have any money or experience doing that type of thing.
