OUA play-offs

This coming weekend: Laurier gets the bye for finishing 1st (and slaughtering Western to get there - wow !)
Western vs. Guelph; Windsor vs. Ottawa; Queens vs. McMaster
Windsor might be the dark horse to challenge Laurier - seem to have a balanced offence and a stout defence.

Guelph eliminated Westen by scoring a game winning rouge. Returner failed to return the missed FG out of the end zone. Why he didn’t punt it back beats me.

TVA Sports (Quebec/ French TV) will show the Q play-off games and then the National semi-finals and Vanier
CBC might show the National semis, or at least the Vanier.
There was OUA TV to watch games there, on-line = free to sign-up - but I have not tried there this year, so not sure that is still in place ?
Such respect for that level of football in our country - I can watch dozens of US college ball games on TV up here though. And the CFL brainiacs don't grasp this at all; but instead want to make their league more American. That league needs a big repatriation enema.

With moving the CFL season earlier each year there will never be an opportunity to match up Vanier and Grey Cups again. Let's hope TSN if they remain as exclusive CFL partner see the wisdom of covering CIS as well.
Minimum playoffs and Vanier. But hopefully game of week in season between powerhouse match ups.

I went to my first OUA game in many years at Laurier on Saturday and was thoroughly entertained. Even Laurier dominated the first half, Guelph showed a lot of heart and a very good performance by QB Marshall McCray in the second half to make it a fairly close game. For those of you who haven't seen McCray play, he is essentially Tre Ford lite at this point but still has a year or two of eligibility left. The Guelph offensive line really had a tough time in protecting their starting QB Tristan Aboud in the first half but McCray's mobility gave the Laurier defense some difficulty.
Laurier QB Cal Wither is a really solid passer and has skills similar to Tyler Elgersma. Wither backed up Kurtis Rourke at Ohio before Rourke transferred to Indiana. I can see Laurier going to the Vanier again to play Laval.

Wither sure made a nice transition to lead the Laurier offence taking over from Elgersma.
They look like a team on a mission, but Queens could give them a good battle, and then if they win they have to go out West to play the winner there and that could be tough (the Rams could easily have beat Laval there last year).
Laval vs. Montreal is going to be a tough one - maybe a toss-up, but Desjardins the real good vet QB could make the difference.
SMU with a great D could throw a scare into the Q winner if they take the AUS; doubtful maybe but I'd expect a tighter game for the AUS winner maybe competing well this year.

Carabins vs. Laval about to start - watching on TVA Sports tv.
All other Conference title games today seem like outstanding match-ups; sad & pathetic they are not televised on regular TV - lack of respect for Canadian football in this country is sickening.

All the playoff except for Loney Bowl were extremely close.
Canadian Football is alive and well.
