It's funny how Dinwiddie ultimately got his wish, although maybe he wanted Pinball gone, too.

I will add that this story, I believe, got started on this forum after Scooter noticed that Murphy's name wasn't on the website. I asked Dave Naylor about that on Twitter and he pursued the story from there.

By the way, the team has now taken down its football operations staff page: https://www.argonauts.ca/coaching-staff ... perations/

I think when (if) the full story ever comes out, we are going to learn that Dinwiddie thought he saw an opening and tried to pull a power play and become boss of the entire football operation. Pinball has some flaws as a GM, but the greatest Argonaut of all time, who has known Pelley for more than two decades, was never gonna lose a power struggle to an interloper like Dinwiddie.

If there is truth to this, it does take some of the lustre off of Dinwiddie. He accomplished alot here and needs to be recognized for it, but if he tried to pull a power play over on Pinball, the man who gave Ryan is head coaching opportunity in football, the greatest Argo, and living legend than shame on him. Dinwiddie was going to get this opportunity fair and square at some point...and he did in Ottawa. Maybe with a little more patience his duties were going to keep expanding, and his paycheque certainly would have as well. Especially with Murphy out now, the team was certainly ready to look at alternative structures.
In my case anyhow I will certainly enjoy cheering against RD when Ottawa plays the Argos. And Ottawa is my 1B team.

You have a direct pipeline to Naylor Ravi? That's amazing. He went to my high school - Thornlea Secondary in Thornhill. I never knew him while I was there. I think I was a grade or two ahead of him.
The power of these kinds of forums. Incredible. It's good for the Argos to know they have a small, but very passionate fanbase. Something to work with and improve upon.

Best of luck in his future endeavours.

Onwards and upwards.

This is how I see it, I’m quite content with the new management structure.

Not really a direct pipeline to Naylor, but we have had good conversations on Twitter. We attended Carleton at the same time and have some of the same Ottawa football memories.

Well it's good to know that just a casual observation, followed by your follow through with him, led to a story, that may or may not have come out in a timely fashion.
