Where are the Argos spending their money?

According to 3downnation.com's review of the top paid players by position, the Argos are clearly spending their money on linebackers, the o-line and at QB. Chad Kelly is the second-highest paid QB while the Argos have 3 of the top 14 paid o-linemen - Shepley, Hunter, and Nicastro. Damonte Coxie is the Argos' highest paid receiver but only ranks at #19 in the league. On defence, Cam Judge and Isaac Darkangelo are among the best paid linebackers in the league but both are being paid less than Wynton McManis in Hamiton. Adarius Pickett is the only DB in the top 10 for that group at #4. By comparison, Winnipeg has 3 DBs in the top 10 while Hamilton has two.
One other note - while the Argos don't have any d-lineman on the top paid list, three Argos from 2024 are in the top 5 - Folarin Orimolade, Jake Ceresna, and Robbie Smith.
I don't believe 3downnation.com has done special teamers yet but I would guess that Lirim Hajrullahu has to be among the highest paid kickers in the league.

Not being negative, but they aren't spending their money just yet. Next season I would be expect, Coxie ( who at #19 is a bargain), Polk & Mital to get substantial raises.

Right now, the Argos are getting great value from a receiving corps that I believe is as good as any in the league. Given the season I expect them to have, I agree that they're likely going to have to pay substantially more next year to this group. Fortunately, the cap will almost certainly increase again in 2027. Polk, as I recall, re-signed through at least 2027 so he's good at least for the next two seasons.

Only 3 Argos are in the top 30 paid players in the CFL. Those three are Chad Kelly, Dakota Shepley, and Ryan Hunter.

Mital is getting PAID next year. Hopefully by us.
