66% increase in revenue. Not bad. Good job StewJo. Thats what he was hired to do. He just put another $2 million into owners hands and $2 million into players hands per team.
Most teams should be profitable or at least within reach of profitability with this deal.Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2026 12:03 pm66% increase in revenue. Not bad. Good job StewJo. Hopefully potential owners PRICK up their ears in Quebec City or Maritimes. For a football mad province like Quebec, never understood why QCity has never embraced the CFL. It would certainly look good on them in reacquiring NHL team which they fully embrace.ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2026 12:42 pmMost teams should be profitable or at least within reach of profitability with this deal.Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2026 12:03 pm66% increase in revenue. DAZN will put many more global eyeballs on the CFL than the global player initiative was doing, which in turn will generate more revenue and create greater interest and awareness for global players to come play here and so on, and so on. Curious to see the on air talent DAZN and YouTube use next year.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2026 5:17 pm It was essential to get more revenue, and it wasn't going to be easy given that there are likely no other conventional broadcasters bidding and the giant streamers like Netflix and Prime would have little to no interest in such a small league in a small country. So overall they did very well, growing annual revenue from about $50m to about $83m. Getting DAZN and YouTube on board is also very smart although it will drive some existing fans nuts because of the cost of DAZN.
I agree, overall a very good development for the CFL.paulwoods13 wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2026 5:17 pm It was essential to get more revenue, and it wasn't going to be easy given that there are likely no other conventional broadcasters bidding and the giant streamers like Netflix and Prime would have little to no interest in such a small league in a small country.
