Or have they taken advantage of other team's fuck ups?

Probably a lot of truth to your question, credit to them for taking advantage of their opportunities.
Not a great football team but certainly not awful at this point.

Hard to say. Of the 6 games they have played, 5 have been against Winnipeg, Edmonton and Hamilton who are a combined 2-16. They are 4-1 in those games against those teams.

They look to have a strong receiving corps, and Brown looks like a legit QB. But yes, let's wait to see how they do against serious defences.

Improved for sure. Easy schedule thus far.

A lot of speed on D and Dru Brown looks legit. But I'm not convinced their o-line can stand up to the league's better teams.

Will, I have been wrestling with this question also. I don't feel like I have a good read on the Redblacks yet. I think that they're better than they were last year but I don't think they're in the elite category or even that close at this point.

Yeah I agree I think they look much better than last year (and they were awful last year) so maybe that's what happening. Also true that they've had a pretty easy season so far, so it will telling to see how they do against tougher teams.

They are much better than last year. Talent is better. Winning close games they would have lost last year. Not elite as others have said. Dru Brown and the Ottawa offence showed flashes of explosiveness last week in Edmonton. We'll see if they can build off that.
They get Calgary and Saskatchewan in Ottawa their next 2 games with each of those teams on 5 days rest, so Ottawa could stay solidly in 2nd place with the Argos losing in Hamilton tonight.
Not elite but not the free spot on the bingo card anymore.

Umm - NO - they are a mediocre team at best with real weak/dumb coaching.
And holes galore on their defence.
IF Dedmon could stay healthy he at least would provide some big play / game breaker stuff from the return game (see J. Grant)
Brown is looking Ok at best at QB IMO, but he has a pretty decent receiver corps to work with.
Looking forward to the Argo visit here in Sept.; if the Argos lose that one .... I dunno what that will say ?
