Hey all, Mulder here.
Post-mortum on what happened.
Basically the forum was running on 12+ year old software and and the host updated the database scripting (PHP). Older versions were prone with security flaws, far out of date as well and the site broke.
This left Will with a few options.
1) Update VBulletin to the latest version at a cost of $300-500usd
2) some kinda of retrofit of code of the old version to make it work (maybe)
3) Start new forum with new software (phpBB is free)
4) abandon the forums
I did look into migration of from VBulletin to phpBB all posts users etc but we just decided to start a new. (It's possible. Ish lots of work).
Bare with me as I continue to update site theming, colours, images and fonts and you may want to refresh the site (CRTL-F5) once and a while to see updates. If there is a graphics designer among us PM me as I'm not very good at it. Also open to suggestions.
New forums is also much much more mobile friendly.
Please thank Will for keeping this active thought the years, and keeping a place for to talk Argos. He does pay a yearly fee for hosting and domain name.
Go Argos!
