Unfortunate, but not surprising. A casualty of the Kelly suspension, which saw the Argos bring in Arbuckle.

Should have released Dukes. I think he’s proven his arm is not strong enough.

It didn't seem that they gave Scott that much of an opportunity, which was unfortunate. Scott did have a stronger arm than Dukes. Perhaps the Argos have their eye on another QB in a NFL camp to bring in later, which was a reason for releasing Scott.

Have the Argos had a fourth QB on the active roster/practice roster at any point during Dinwiddie's coaching stint?

Sad to see him go but unless he was willing to go on the practice roster, I'm not sure how they could've kept him. Dukes and Arbuckle have some experience to step in if necessary and that's always the wise move at this point in the season. As for who has more potential, that's a different story.

Dinwiddie said that he told Scott that there was no way to keep him around now but that it's possible that they bring him back in the future.

Unless some other team snatches him up first, which is a legitimate possibility.

Maybe, but hard to say. He hasn’t really had a chance to showcase his talents, and I’m sure other teams want to give their own younger guys a look first.

To your point as well, if other teams were looking for another arm as security, there are recent cuts like Jake Dolegala available who have game experience.
If they were high on him and afraid someone else was going to snatch him up, would placing him, or Dukes for that matter, on the 6-game IR with an "undetermined lower body injury" have been an option?
I think in the end, they figured it would be safe to cut him loose.

Scott could sign with the UFL provided there is a season 2. If he doesn't get maimed behind those O Lines he could get some film and maybe return in 2025.
