Sweet wee little Canadian University stadium.
Who knows if five or ten years down the road when Rogers puts it's plans in motion to totally revamp their dome for baseball only. Hopefully with all the money Braley is making from being the host owner of what will be three out or four Grey Cups he can get a stadium built for The Argonauts. One would hope that the wheels are in motion as Rogers and the Jays will do what the have to do for their team. I'd hope that the Argonaut Stadium would hold 35,000 with the ability to boost attendance for Grey Cup. No running back to Rogers for anything once ties are cut. Would be nice to see a stadium with open playing surface and covered fans. As I've mentioned Oct and Nov games in TO could be nice or a dank, cold, rainy mess. Dressing for rainy games as a fans used to suck at the CNE late in the season. Cold weather is easier than rain.
Because no one believes Rogers has any interest at all in a new stadium at this time.
Even if they are losing that much (and we'll probably never now), that's relatively small potatoes in such a giant corporation, and they probably see it as a sign of goodwill they believe pays off in other ways.
If we could draw 30K, I wouldn't care what anyone said.
I agree. 35,000, even 40,000 minimum seating. Expandable to 55,000. Even if if 500 fans will be circling the Stadium in a series of Goodyear Party Blimps, with extended blimp mass and seating and a bar, like say 6-7 Blimps, the Delta 88 of Blimps, constantly going round and round. And I'm not being sarcastic. These would be the best seats ever. Smoking allowed of course, since these blimps would use helium, instead of hydrogen (and I hope I didn't mix the two up -- whatever, the engineers will assure no Hindenburg explosions). Oh and free drinks, naturally, with your $500 Blimp Party Pass. I really am ahead of our time.
Also agree with no running back to Rogers. Screw Rogers. We really need our own Stadium.
And yes, why not, covered seats for the fans with an open field, but wearing a raincoat is really not a big deal. As long as you're boozing.
Cheers !

Hopefully if a new Argo Stad gets built it won't be in the middle of nowhere. If it is than perhaps they could build a few restaurants and Argo Hotel. Sheraton Argo Centre.
This Argo Stadium things sounding better and better. Plus plenty of parking and bbq pits for a killer tailgate experience. All we need is a good chunk of land and cash.
http://www.thestar.com/news/gta/2013...iew_plans.html Downsview's up for grabs again. Get in there, Braley! Call in some favours!
they could call it 'Argoland' and make fun rides for the kids all in double blue.
Grey cup 106. Newer and bluer meanies
Oh that would be a sweet spot.
Beeston on PTS, grass situation comes up around the 4:40 mark.

Well it's nice to hear Beeston actually care about the Argonauts. So it looks like the Argos better get on a plan for a stadium ASAP.
As far as the real sod the Jays will have a serious construction site on their hands there. I guess money is no option but the constuction crews will be glad the roof is closed as I'm sure it'll be a 24 hour a day job site. It won't be as matter of fact as Beeston makes it sound. They'll need most if not all of an offseason for that.
Interesting times ahead.
Cameron Dukes + Dan Adeboboye + Kevin Mital + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force
Regarding natural grass; Football has been played on grass since at least the late 1800's. And it's not just easier for Baseball players when it comes to injury reduction; it also helps Football players reduce injury too. A win-win situation. I'm sure we can find a way to have both Football and Baseball played on grass; even if it takes both 1argoholic and myself, working part-time in the off-season, opening the roof (and the bar) on sunny days, to keep the grass growing. Then again, they could always install hydroponic lighting in the Dome, to create artificial (but real) sunlight. Might need an RCMP Detachment for security though....
Cheers !
