Unfortunately, it's been MLSE calling all the shots with the city bending over backwards for them...very akin to the tail wagging the dog. If the city had the balls to tell MLSE how the stadium got built...then that oversight of the concrete wall being built and the field of play being not being large enough for Canadian Football would have been addressed.
The Argos need a stadium to generate other forms of revenue from parking and concession sales...if they don't get that at BMO, then is their really a difference between that and skydome. For the amount of renovation that they may be expected to pay for, maybe they should partner with Football Canada, Football Ontario and the CIS, or with other football and sport organizations and build their own stadium that they can control.
I can't see BMO being any more advantageous, for other than better dates, than the Dome, unless they are made EQUAL partners in running the stadium. I don't know if MLSE would want that...what do you think?

Never been to the stadium but it looks cheap as hell sort of like the Temp Grey Cup endzone seats. Not sure I'd want to go if the Argos played there.
Screw all the BS, The Toronto Argonauts need their own stadium!!!
I want a roof.
I find it interesting that when Some Argo fans on here comment about the bias of the T.O media towards the team, we are told that we are to sensitive. Now you have a media member incouraging TFC fans to let MLSE know their feelings about not have the Argos play at the city owned stadium. What happen to neutral bias as a member of the member. One thing to write a story saying the Argos will hurt soccer playing at BMO, it quite another to solicit and start a protest by TFC fans on Twitter by a media member
You're lucky enough to have not had to live with out a football team, TFC fans are not. Most of us were happy to just have a team and that cheap as hell Meccano set stadium was a bonus. The early off field success of the team was credited in part to BMO Field. There's a reason TFC fans are protective of it.
I remember when The Argos, Toronto Blizzard and Jays all shared CNE stadium. No BS drummed up by media back then. TO media just likes to stir the shite and a certain fraction jump all over and into it.
Oh, the excitement when SkyDome first opened: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/vau...81/1/index.htm
Reading this article, it seems as though this stadium was built with baseball in mind first and foremost.

Cameron Dukes + Dan Adeboboye + Kevin Mital + David Ungerer + Damonte Coxie + DaVaris Daniels + Dejon Brissett = Unstoppable Force
I kinda like the new place they have in Winnipeg, they have a roof above all the stands but not the field. I could live with that.
Heck, the place isn't even great for baseball. It's the last of the multi-purpose cookie cutters that got built. Camden Yards made it obsolete as a baseball stadium three years later even if attendance was still through the roof for a few years after that.
TORONTO ARGONAUTS FOOTBALL CLUB
GREY CUP CHAMPIONS: 1914, 1921, 1933, 1937, 1938, 1945, 1946, 1947, 1950, 1952, 1983, 1991, 1996, 1997, 2004, 2012, 2017, 2022
It's an iron clad contract, I forget for how many years involving management and with first rights for usage by MLSE. What makes you think now all of a sudden and especially since MLSE, City of Toronto and Soccer Canada are sleeping in the same bed, that this would change?
