Re: Bell out of MLSE, Rogers will own 75%
Steve Simmons giving what I would consider an accurate assessment of Edward Rogers and his track record as an owner. I’m not overly enthused with one entity basically owning all Toronto sports franchises but here we sit. https://torontosun.com/sports/edward-rogers-most-powerful-sporting-man Pretty ...

Re: Game Thread: Tiger-Cats at Argonauts
I see there are $3 hotdogs and $7 beers being promoted! Those are pretty reasonable deals and great for a live sporting event.

Re: Bell out of MLSE, Rogers will own 75%
. The loss of the Argos from the league would definitely be a blow to the league and to ratings, but an eight-team league would still offer four games a week to a broadcaster. I don’t want to come across over dramatic but I believe the loss of any franchise and a return to 8 teams would really crip...

Re: Bell out of MLSE, Rogers will own 75%
More likely they'll finish later in order to move the Super Bowl to the Presidents Day holiday weekend. While you are right that they will finish later, it will also be a Labor Day start. They are going to incorporate an extra bye week. So basically one week earlier and one week later. The Labor Da...

Re: Bell out of MLSE, Rogers will own 75%
Whats the price tag today to buy a team , and build a stadium? $1.5 Billion each for $3 Billion USD total? ROI on that would be 50 years at least. Rogers is publicly traded. Not sure if shareholders would be on board or not. I think it would cost a lot more than $1.5B to buy an NFL team. The ROI wo...

Re: Bell out of MLSE, Rogers will own 75%
What are the attractions of owning the Argonauts? Their enterprise value has barely moved in 40 years. I suppose they could be tacked on to TFC for modest synergy purposes, but beyond that I'm having a hard time seeing why someone might want to submit a bid. Being a flyspeck on the books of a giant...

Re: Bell out of MLSE, Rogers will own 75%
One suggestion I read elsewhere was that Rogers could make the decision that BMO becomes soccer only, especially with the 2026 World Cup on the horizon. Could that even be a possibility? Any potential sale of the Argos could become very difficult if they don't have a venue to play in.

Re: CFL TV Ratings Decline
Think Good news is these afternoon games... get good crowds... Bomber and I think Ticat games were both sold out...even our playoff game had a good crowd which is massive for us... Think if you want a better TV ratings you have to play in the evening... Having a good crowd right now , playing at fa...

Re: Edmonton Elks
Tre Ford named EE starter for next game. Love to see what he could do along with that 3 headed run game monster and balance on offence they have going now. They could win the West IMO. I would have laughed at this notion heading into the season but you are definitely right, they really could be a f...

CFL TV Ratings Decline
Anyone have any thoughts on why the CFL ratings continue to struggle? The much ballyhoo'd move to CTV this past weekend was a flop with the game plummeting 17% year over year. For the season, CFL ratings are down almost 5% and only 4 of 14 weeks have actually surpassed 2023. I know streaming is a th...
