Good to see them pull out the win especially since they were the better team for the majority of the game.
I know it was raining lots and I'm sure it was a factor, but the Argos DB's are really due for an interception or two.

Fun, but wet, tonight. A few folks were speculating the game might be postponed to Sunday - but they can't do that; the CFL weather protocol says that they won't resume the following day, there are various other alternatives depending on how far the game got before cancellation. Interesting reading that fortunately did not come into effect tonight.

If the game had not started and been postponed - as happened last year between Calgary and Saskatchewan - it likely would have taken place on Sunday instead. Fortunately, that didn’t happen.shayman wrote: ↑Sun Aug 23, 2026 12:26 am Fun, but wet, tonight. Great game for the much-maligned offensive line. No sacks allowed, few pressures and 145 yards rushing. Can't get much better than that; who knows how or why they were able to rebound from such a terrible performance last week, but let's hope it sticks.
Interesting that the four sacks were Lemon (2), Hendrix and Bolden. One cut by Montreal, one cut by Toronto and one signed off the proverbial scrap heap. I don't know if that says more about the Argos' recruiting or other team's asset management. But I'm sure glad we have those three guys, especially Lemon and Bolden.
Early in the game, I got the feeling Smith was going to have his coming-out party, and man, did he ever. He looked like a guy who can be a real impact player in this league. The new backfield has an obvious nickname:

Both Judge and Kemp suffered injuries that did not look good. If Judge can't play next week, and with two NAT d-linemen already out, I wonder if that would be incentive to go with four NAT o-linemen. Hunter to right tackle, Bland to left, Kolankowski inside and Piazza back on the roster.

Also -- Argos had ONE penalty, one night after Edmonton went through an entire game with ZERO penalties (first time that has happened since 1974!).

He has been an amazing addition to the Argonauts D for sure, a move described as “desperate scrap heaping” has really paid off, kudos to Barker and the gang for making an astute move!

A nice bounce back game with all 3 phases having solid performances. Kudos to all the fans who stayed 18,500. Better weather the attendance would be well over 20,000.
Hamilton should be the CNE opponent each year. Why don't MLSE play 2 home games during CNE every year? Boost attendance.
Naturally the Argos are now on road for 2 more games, again out West next week. After 2/3 of season they will have played 2 home games and 10 road games. Who draws that up? And who signs off on that? At league and at MLSE? If we still had journalism, questions should be asked.

Loved the 24-3 second half beatdown and the professional response to last week's disappointment by the o-line. Their physical dominance over the Ticats D gave us an actual running game last night. Kelly was extremely efficient considering the weather. Only one interception, which was more great play by the DB than bad pass. Nice bounce back game by Coxie, and Kahmann has to be a serious rookie of the year candidate. D-line was great and Bolden was a beast again.
Hopefully we won't see another lightning delay any time soon.
