Hunt said this week that he's willing to return. I am unsure that OSEG would take him back though.Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2026 12:11 pm Please bring back Jeff Hunt. Ever since he resigned the Redblacks have been in the shithouse. That guy is a winner. Similar to Pinball. Whatever they do, they do well.

OSEG's the problem then. Hunt had the Midas touch, and had that stadium full every week.ArgoRavi wrote: ↑Fri Aug 21, 2026 1:11 pmHunt said this week that he's willing to return. How he went from a fresh face ready to prove himself to trying to undermine and head hunt for Pinball’s title still makes me shake my head.ARGO57 wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2026 2:17 pmIt’s called ego, Dinwiddie has a very high opinion of himself.OV Argo wrote: ↑Sat Aug 08, 2026 1:44 pm Maybe they can tie that Ticats 1 & 17 record from a number of years back?
Dinwid in way over his head; the guy knows how to run a good CFL pass attack, so he might be an ideal OC / QB coach for a lot of teams; but he has no clue about the importance of a ground game mostly, and I doubt he knows much if anything about coaching or putting together a good defence. And as a HC he looks like a clown/baby on the sidelines often, and throwing players under the bus, in public, when losses are on him ? And why did he need to be GM - what is his big personnel know-how or experience ?
Sad to see what is happening in Ottawa - losing fans and it likely gets worse. The blame still falls with the owners though who make the hires to run their football team = typical clueless, same old, rich guy morons who know zip about the sport they are involved in. And they do next to nothing - that i see - to market or promote their football team here (same old game day perks for fans who are already going).

Jim Popp has been brought in as Sr. Advisor by the Redblacks.

It is an advisory role for now. May not be permanent. He may just be there to help hire the new Executive and rebuild the US scouting department. He has extensive network in the USA from his decades of football work and success. He brought Dinwiddie in as an assistant in Montreal. Burke had to go. Improving their US scouting is a vital fix for this team.
My preference is Jeff Hunt. But Popp certainly has CFL pedigree and history of success.

Denis Piche; James Ellingson, Brad Sinopoli ...
Anybody with some football experience can read the NFL transactions wire or NFL draft preview guides, and mine some of dozens of potential contacts down there for finding players from the US. Having a Canadian football AND Ottawa football guy with some proper say would be my preference over a recycled CFL GOB, but that's just me.
