Queens beats U of T in opening weekend, and read that the game drew 3,829 at Varsity - pretty good crowd for a U Sports game in Toronto ?
OUA should feature some good teams and battles; Queens might repeat; Western have new HC Mike Faulds taking over where he once starred at QB.

Not a bad crowd given that students haven't already moved in yet.

Re: 2026 season
I'm interested in OUA this season. Gotta support the system. I was already aware of this, but Toronto is pretty bad. Currently down 21-3 against the GG's in the 2nd.
Re: 2026 season
Argo draft pick Weagbe Mombo goes off for 200 yards rushing (on only 7 carries) in Windsor's win over Laurier yesterday. Sure hope the Argos bring him back for another look next TC.
Western slaughter York in Mike Faulds' debut as new Mustangs HC.
Should be a very good competition to take the OUA crown this year - Queens, Western, GGs, Windsor, maybe Mac in there too ?

Re: 2026 season
Are the Gee-Gees actual contenders these days, or are they still stuck in that middle ground where they're better than U of T, Waterloo, and York, but not quite in the same class as Queen's or Western? When I was at uOttawa (2005-2009), they were a legitimate national contender at times. Did they cut the football budget at some point?
Re: 2026 season
Crowd of 21,366 in Quebec City as Laval beats Montreal (high scoring game 42-34) in battle of Q heavyweights. Both QBs put up big passing yardage; and this game featured a couple of receivers - Carabins' E-J Leclair & Laval's Olivier Cool - who should (maybe?) get real CFL looks at their draft times.
Laval can easily outdraw any Ontario CFL team; testament to both support for Canadian football in Quebec and the sad state of CFL football in Ontario = real f-ing sad IMO.
