Unfortunately, that is the way a lot of great players go.
It could make for a good video montage of all the players ever having to do so if someone had the skills to put it together.

How many games did Lamar Jackson miss last year? And Allen was really banged up all year. You are making my argument for me. And Dart already has had 2 concussions in less than a full year. Maybe you don’t care if a WB’s career is cut short by concussion. Good for you.OV Argo wrote: ↑Tue Sep 15, 2026 5:22 pm
Watch any NFL? Ever heard of Lamar Jackson or Josh Allen or Jalen Hurts or Drake Maye or Justin Herbert or Caleb Williams? How bout young Giants QB Jaxson Dart who the other night had 11 runs for 54 yards to lead his team to an opening game win over the Cowboys ?
Have you sent all NFL HCs and GMs a memo to stop this foolishness of having mobile QBs affect games with their scrambling and key runs to win games ? I'm sure they would pay heed to a QB expert like yourself.![]()
And BTW a whole slew of CFL QBs in the past number of years have been injured by getting smacked or crushed sitting in the pocket in a same old CFL look offence while trying to pass; but who cares about that evidence eh?
No. In conclusion, a QB should be a pass first position. What you seem to be wanting is lots of designed QB runs. Again, Ford has been injured every year in his career thus far on plays in which he was running with the ball. What good is a QB that misses a lot of games every year due to injury?
ALL of the all-time great mobile / run threat QBs - Russ Jackson, Doug Flutie, Damon Allen, Tracy Ham - passed way more than they ran; so what is your point? - that QBs who run might get injured? So might immobile QBs who can only be sitting ducks in the pocket.AngeloV wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2026 10:59 amNo. In conclusion, a QB should be a pass first position. Stop living in the past. Your are bringing up players that played 30-60 years ago. The game has changed, and so has how concussions are perceived. Again, I was specifically talking about Ford, who has been injured running the ball every season he has been in the league. If you can't comprehend of acknowledge that, there is no use carrying on.OV Argo wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2026 11:28 amALL of the all-time great mobile / run threat QBs - Russ Jackson, Doug Flutie, Damon Allen, Tracy Ham - passed way more than they ran; so what is your point? - that QBs who run might get injured? Zach gets more blame than he deserves. He's playing behind a shaky Oline with a ragtag group of receivers. Stanley Bryant is 40. Tui Eli is a 6 year vet that still can't start. Rookie American center. 37 year old Neufeld is their best lineman. Still can't figure out how they beat Montreal.OV Argo wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2026 3:47 pm Zach Collaros - another run threat/ mobile QB (oops, he is not that) who has suffered way worse (likely) concussion issues vs. Ford; never mind; you can't grasp the point of how a run threat/ mobile QB can add so much to a football offence - some ultra modern CFL GOB told you so likely.![]()
And how did his biggest injury in which he missed the most time happen? A cheap shot yes, but he was running. You really have no clue sometimes.OV Argo wrote: ↑Wed Sep 16, 2026 3:47 pm Zach Collaros - another run threat/ mobile QB (oops, he is not that) who has suffered way worse (likely) concussion issues vs. Ford; never mind; you can't grasp the point of how a run threat/ mobile QB can add so much to a football offence - some ultra modern CFL GOB told you so likely.![]()

Bombers never do say how serious the issue is which could be it right there, but my feeling was when they 6 gamed him earlier they were hoping to give him a rest and have Dru Brown step in. That kinda worked but not really because the rest of the team is not that solid of a unit. Demski is going to be 34. Gavin Cobb is the starting wideout. I picked them to miss the playoffs but it looks like Calgary will save them from that.
I think Collaros could still be a nice addition in free agency be it in a depth role / transition to coaching scenario. Might even see some good football from him this year yet as well. While there is still lots to be determined Wpg crossing over to face the Argos could well be the way it plays out. Alternatively the Riders if not Wpg.
