Re: Game Thread: Argos vs. BC
This was what I was expecting beginning on Labour Day. Complete team effort, high calibre play. Red Zone Efficiency needs to be figured out.
Surprised Rourke did not start second half after he found his footing in 2nd quarter. I think Campbell wanted to experiment with the 2 QB system. Except VA was using the same game plan against the Argos which was clearly not working. Argo D was very good last night.

I got a sense that the CFL Media couldn’t wait to highlight Nathan O’Rourke after what they thought would be drubbing of the Argos.
Classic good guy/bad guy matchup.

Won't be going to the Grey Cup by just hitting FGs. They really need to finish drives into the endzone. And boy, am I glad that Rourke got benched and Kelly won the QBs duel. Shut a lot of critics up. Facebook was quiet last night haha. (maybe everyone fell asleep)
Re: Game Thread: Argos vs. BC
That was such a satisfying win after a week full of negativity. Picket’s comments, our own fans with stupid fire Dinwiddie, the usual anti Kelly, Rourke’s Kelly/Argos comments, the ignorance and/or arrogance of B.C. fans. It’s was all too much. Glad the season is back on!
Wish they finished a few of those drives and put up 50 against this over the cap, dynasty
Lions team.

Yesterday marked the first time since 2001 that the Argos swept the regular season series against the Lions. The Argos accomplished this feat in the following seasons:

1988 - Home: 26-21, Away: 24-12
1990 - Home: 68-43, Away: 49-19
1997 - Home: 46-3, Away: 34-20
1998 - Home: 37-28, Away: 30-15
2001 - Home: 32-17, Away: 34-17

Re: Game Thread: Argos vs. BC
Inoice the way the Argos played yesterday. The way everyone had written them off last week really pissed me. The anti Kelly comments to me were ridiculous. He played great in Hamilton and had a couple of unfortunate bounces last week. I still feel most of the negative comments came from people who want him to fail so the Argos move on from him. Screw that.
Re: Game Thread: Argos vs. BC
Time for repeat performances; rather than just the odd big win. Consistent strong effort football.
Liked the diverse offence: all 7 receivers rotate in for reps (what other CFL team does that?); and all 3 RBs used; and I say again - Kelly is a run threat QB and that should be game planned.
The D was better this game and the return of McManis and Brinkman could maybe make them a real tough unit.
But, If they fail in that home game opportunity to pummel the over-rated RedBlacks and shut Pickett's big-mouth up, I'll know they are just pretenders to a good team.
