Re: Game Thread: Tiger-Cats at Argonauts
This is the most parity across the league I have ever seen. And the teams are not crap. Every team has talent and have played good games. Second place is still possible IF Ottawa lose tomorrow. Ottawa has a ton of injuries but they haven't lost at home yet and haven't played 2 bad games in a row yet.
I thought the Argos would kill the Ticats tonight and end their season. After the way they mauled the Lions last week I thought they were going on a roll. It was close but Hamilton is playing playoff football every game now and Toronto didn't match their intensity.

Plays that hurt the most: Kelly's ill advised throw that resulted in an INT...LH misses a rare FG....Derek Parish flaged for RTP that extends a TD drive when Bordner should have been flagged for holding....Coxie drop at the Hamilton 35 yard line...Butler being left unattended for the pass in the flat on the final drive.
I hate everything about the Cats. This stings.

Why was the field so wet tonight? We haven't had rain in weeks.

If Kelly doesn't slip on Argos last drive, he throws the easy TD pass in the endzone. Forcing Hamilton to drive the field to win. Probably not enough time for Hamilton.gilthethrill wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 10:25 pm Plays that hurt the most: Kelly's ill advised throw that resulted in an INT...LH misses a rare FG....Derek Parish flaged for RTP that extends a TD drive when Bordner should have been flagged for holding....Coxie drop at the Hamilton 35 yard line...Butler being left unattended for the pass in the flat on the final drive.

TFC ruined the field 3 days ago when they played.Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 10:26 pm Why was the field so wet tonight? We haven't had rain in weeks.

Sonsofbitches. I thought the soccer folk were worried about the Argos doing field damage all those years ago. That was never an issue.gilthethrill wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 10:42 pmTFC ruined the field 3 days ago when they played.Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 10:26 pm Why was the field so wet tonight? Yes, the defense carries the lion's share of the blame tonight.
Hamilton Oline took our Dline to school. They seemed to effortlessly keep our guys running right by Mitchell, never getting a sniff. Give Mitchell that much time, he'll find a receiver, which he did. They owned time of possession.
With the exception of the INT (which was ugly) I think Kelly had a pretty good game.
A smaller share of the blame goes to Dinwiddie for the late game clock management. I agree, they could have run the ball more and killed more clock on that last drive. At the same time, I can't blame them for going for the TD pass when the opportunity presented itself. They almost had it.

Yeah, part of me wishes that they had just run the ball there but Kelly had a chance to hit Daniels in the endzone and Kelly's slip just threw it off. I think Dinwiddie knew that they needed a TD there and decided to play more aggressively. Unfortunately, it cost them when they had to settle for the FG.Deez_Dreams wrote: ↑Fri Sep 20, 2024 10:50 pm Yes, the defense carries the lion's share of the blame tonight.

The weather out west tonight looks Crisp. You can see the players breath. Riders giving the Stamps some lumber tonight. Looking to end their playoff hopes.
