East Semi Final Thread: Ottawa Redblacks @ Toronto Argonauts
After this weekends games I believe Hamilton will win out and secure third place in the East. Ottawa will lose out and finish fourth and not crossover.
That means Hamilton in Toronto on Saturday November 2. BMO will sellout and the Argos will need to beat the Tiger Cats for the first time this season.
Get your tickets. They will go fast this year.

Interesting speculation, but IMO the likelihood of both Ott going 0-3 and Ham going 3-0 is very low. Could happen, but I'll be surprised if it does. If Ham does go 3-0, Argos will need to go 3-0, 2-1, 1-1-1 (unlikely) or 0-0-3 (almost impossible) to host the Eastern Final.

Re: East Semi Final Thread
I think Argos go at least 2-1 in their final 3. They are in Winnipeg, at home to Ottawa, and in Edmonton. OTTAWA are in Montreal, in Toronto and home to Hamilton.
Hamilton are home to Winnipeg, home to Calgary and in Ottawa. The only tough one here is Winnipeg but they are at home and playing lights out right now.
It's a stretch still. But what a semi final that would be. I like Ottawa as my second favorite team. But they are looking real bad on offence, and their injuries on defense are too much to overcome. I would rather see a red hot Ticat team come here and finally have the Argos win the one that matters on them. The excitement and hype around that game will be bigger than the last two east finals.

Re: East Semi Final Thread
Rather face Ottawa than Hamilton. We always seem to lose against the Cats in the playoffs. Coincidentally enough, I believe that last time we beat them in the playoffs was 2010 in the East Semis where they swept the season series but we ended up beating them since they kept turning the ball over.
However I don't see the Cats losing another game with how they've been playing as of late and the RedBlacks have been faltering. Is it mathematically impossible for Ottawa and Hamilton to both miss and a west team crosses over to the East with us hosting the East semis?

The Ticats visit Ottawa to close out the reg. season so that could be a huge game.
Gotta give credit to a vet QB in Bo for playing pretty well lately, but they are still not a good team IMO. No real run game and depend on Bo having all day to dink & dunk pass. And their D (with the addition of that genius Jones even) is ordinary to weak (Stanback have over 100 yards rushing last game and Rourke completed a lot of passes).
I'll bet on the RedBlacks to win that final game if it is meaningful to both teams. Both are $hitty teams IMO.

Agreed, OV. The Ticats don't scare me. They seem to do this every year - start off the season horribly and then catch a little fire before an early playoff exit. There are still a lot of faults with that team.OV Argo wrote: ↑Sun Sep 29, 2024 6:33 pm The Ticats visit Ottawa to close out the reg. season so that could be a huge game.

Re: East Semi Final Thread
All 3 Argo losses to Hamilton were close. I do think that Toronto would beat them finally in the East Semi. But the game could be a nail biter, and not for the faint of heart. Hamilton is greatly improved. And if this game were to happen, this mean they will have reeled off 7 straight wins; 2 vs Argos, 2 vs Ott, 1 vs Wpg, 1 vs BC, 1 vs Calgary. The only easy one in there could be Calgary.
Should they beat Winnipeg on Friday Hamilton will be the hottest team in the league.

For the record, I may be the only one on here that thought Bo looked really good coming off his 2nd injury last year and could not believe the Ti-Cats didn’t start him in the playoff game. I was maybe the loan voice on here that said he wasn’t finished.
I really wish I was wrong. LOL.

Argos usually do beat Hamilton in the eastern semi. It’s the eastern final when “things” happen.Scooter McCray wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 7:55 am All 3 Argo losses to Hamilton were close. The team's fate is in its own hands. If the Argos win 2 of their last 3 games they will come either 2nd or 3rd and more likely 2nd since one of the remaining three games is against Ottawa. Here's hoping!!
