Re: Game Thread: Argonauts at Blue Bombers
The weather Friday night in Manitoba's Capitol will be perfect for football. With the Bombers coming off a route over Hamilton and looking forward to a bye week, I think the Argos surprise the football world and come up with a solid victory.
Re: Game Thread: Argonauts at Blue Bombers
The Argos are only dressing one backup OL (Landon Rice) and are loading up on the d-line. One can assume that this is an effort to get to Collaros as they did in their home victory against the Blue Bombers in late July. Sopik is out and Darkangelo will start in his place. Adeleke is listed as a starter with Blackburn backing him up.

I notice in the depth chart that Tyson Hergott has been given an alternative number that is usually used by offensive linemen. This indicates that if the Argos need to use a seventh lineman, then Hergott is it.Will wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2024 12:32 pm The Argos are only dressing one backup OL (Landon Rice) and are loading up on the d-line. Darkangelo's performance will be quite important as you know that the Bombers will use Oliveira quite a bit.

Brinkman has also been given an alternative #, and I think he might be next up as a big, strong dude; a 245 or so DE in Hergott having to go in on the O-line might be scary.primetime321 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 10, 2024 6:57 pmI notice in the depth chart that Tyson Hergott has been given an alternative number that is usually used by offensive linemen. Bombers also have just one back-up O-line dressed. Don't get this CFL thinking, and we've discussed it here before - don't like to see any injuries and I hope no team gets burned with this roster management, but if they do ...
Re: Game Thread: Argonauts at Blue Bombers
Nice opening drive by the Argos offense, and two impressive drives by the Argos D.
A special teams uh oh, though gives the Bombers great field position.

What a goal line stand for the Argos!

People's beloved Cam Dukes can't make a 3rd and inches.

You absolutely needed points on that drive. There's much at stake here.

Excellent game from Toronto’s defence which basically won the game.
I don’t understand the offensive play calling in the second half, esp the 4th quarter.
I have been a fan of Robbie Smith since he joined the Argos, but what on earth was he doing on the last Collaros run. All he had to do was stay on his feet and protect against the run, and he ran himself into the ground past Collaros and completely out of the play and almost cost them the game. Thank goodness for McMahon.

Congrats Argos, as usual lots to clean up, multiple errors+penalties, but give credit when it's due.
Always really tuff to win in the Peg, took a lot of effort and determination to get the job done.
Loading up the D-line was certainly a smart call. Seven sacks? wow.
Let's keep it rolling...8 days before our next one vs Ottawa, who will be playing Monday.
